Edit request from Youngsevon, 22 March 2011

{{edit semi-protected}} The only thing that needs to be changed on the Rick Ross page is change "God Forgives, I Don't" to "$elf Made". Rick Ross stated it in the RetroSuperFuture II Music Video ft. Wiz Khalifa and Wale.

Controversy with Rick Ross?

What? No Mention of his problems with ex-drug dealer "Freeway" Rick Ross who he took his name from? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Ross_%28drug_trafficker%29 Centerone (talk) 00:53, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 31 July 2012

Rick Ross is NOT a Christian, he's a Muslim and refers to it on MANY occasions. On quite a few songs he speaks on Allah, and uses Muslim terms such as "insha'allah" and he often says "That's on the Qur'an". Bandzupmdd (talk) 19:13, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Would you provide a source to prove otherwise? SwisterTwister talk 01:48, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Partly done: The video interview is not dated. The Christian source states "Using clips of Ross’ previous statements of faith..." He may have changed faiths. I am going to remove the whole section until we can find a source that is up to date as to which faith he identifies with, as per BLP. --Canoe1967 (talk) 09:11, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

please change the redirect

Rick Ross should redirect to the real, named from birth "Freeway" Rick Ross. it's a little disrespectful to automatically redirect folks to the fake Ricky Ross when the real one is locked in a brutal legal battle after having his identity stolen by this clown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.179.72.82 (talk) 00:23, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 2 November 2012

There is no protection template and there should be one because the article is semi-protected and the template should say pp-semi-protected|small=yes also in the infobox where it saids years active it saids 2002–present, that is not correct and it should say 2006–present, because he released his debut studio album Port of Miami in August 2006. 69.209.219.160 (talk) 04:58, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Done. I have added the template because it needed to be added. I also went ahead and changed the 2002 to 2006 in the infobox per your request, as the article contains very little detail about his recording career before that year. If further detail is added, I would not be opposed to changing the infobox year as appropriate. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:18, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Rick Ross Has Worked At Leuzinger High as head security / Correctional officer

Edit needed. Citation found for Twitter video post under "Seizures"

Here's the link to the video referenced in section 3.3 under Seizures. It's dated October 14, 2011 at 2:02PM after his first seizure earlier that morning. He posted that he was on his way to Memphis with this video: https://twitter.com/rickyrozay/status/124953191782678528

Songwriter

Songwriters are credited for the songs they write, hence it being an "occupation", which is what the infobox parameter you revised is for. This source you cited says "Did Rick Ross write Dr. Dre’s verse on 3 Kings?? Check out Rick Ross’ facial expression when DJ Envy catches him off guard and ask the question". This isnt strong enough to support the claim that Ross is a songwriter, especially with the higher standard BLP article have for verification. Reputed third party sources refer to Ross as a rapper, not a songwriter. Dan56 (talk) 01:51, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

In 2011 Teflon Don (rapper) filed a lawsuit against rapper Rick Ross for his use of the name, [1] [2] filing a copyright infringement trademark infringement lawsuit in a Tennessee Federal Court.

Done. I rephrased it a bit and added it to the Legal issues section. Thanks.  — daranzt ] 20:16, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Rick Ross infobox image

I know this has been reverted before, but shouldn't the picture of Rick Ross in the infobox be a performance, photoshoot, or appearance at a place? Because I suggest having a mugshot of him should only be in the legal issues section, not in the infobox. --~~User:Captainmad~~

The point of the infobox image is to give the best visual of the persons face. The other image you could see less then half his face and was poorly taken along with that. This image does not stand out immediately as a mugshot and the caption does not mention that it is one so this seems okay to me. STATic message me! 23:47, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Edit request on 23 April 2013

PitaB (talk) 21:06, 23 April 2013 (UTC) You need to correct his name! He should be either Rick Ro$$ or Rick FAKE Ross. Please correct ASAP!!!!!

Thanks! Women of America hate him! Let's not get him confused with the REAL Rick Ross who was released from prison and talks to kids about not being a loser like he used to be and like how this FAKE is teaching kids to be.

This is not a proper edit request. STATic message me! 21:28, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
This page should be changed to Rick Ross (Rapper) or (Rap Artist) or (Hip Hop Musician) or whatever is appropriate. There are certainly many Rick Ross'es.. and as we all know, this is just a pseudonym for this guy. Surely this will help to stem the tide of the people who feel that this guy's act of adoption of someone else's name and reputation was not quite legitimate. Centerone (talk) 23:57, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
Did Michael Jackson ever get changed to Michael Jackson (singer)? There are many Michael Jacksons too, including an author. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 12:15, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
Yes and this Rick Ross is the primary and most popular Rick Ross which resulted in this page being moved here. There are disambiguation pages for this reason. STATic message me! 15:28, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
The requested move discussion as above from 2011 has _absolutely no discussion_ under it. It was just moved with no input. Considering that his use of the pseudonym Rick Ross is a point of controversy, it seems like this would be a wise decision, to help stem the tide of criticism.Centerone (talk) 18:48, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
Start a new one at WP:RM then. I doubt it will pass considering he is the most popular Rick Ross which is clear by page view data. None of the alternates at Richard Ross come close. STATic message me! 19:06, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Stagename

Is Rick Ross's stage name also Ricky Rozay, and if it is, would it be okay to add that to the article?

As far as I can tell he has never officially released music under that name. That would be the criteria for adding it. STATic message me! 19:18, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

The reference on godforgivesIdon't.com says that Rick Ross is also known as "Ricky Rozay". We could mention that in the article even though he hasn't released music under that name. His twitter name is also that as well. Robert4565 (talk) 22:03, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Rodney Wills

http://www.americapreachers.com/christian-news/pastor-fired-for-attending-rick-ross-concert/ Pastor Rodney Wills, of the Mt. Salem Baptist Church in North Caroline, has been fired from his job — for attending a Rick Ross concert.

“We cannot have our leader supporting people of this world who are tearing down the kingdom of God.” said Deacon Miles Langley — one of 14 deacons who voted 11 to 3 for Wills’ dismissal.

This has nothing to do with Rick Ross. An unnotable pastor fired by an unnotable church does not belong in Ross' biography. --NeilN talk to me 20:03, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

New Image

I recently changed the image of Rick Ross in the article. I put up an image of him performing at the Sound Academy in Toronto, instead of an old mugshot photo from 2008. Obviously this new image isn't the best in the world, but still better than its predecessor in my opinion which is disrespectful and should be removed per WP:MUG. ShawntheGod (talk) 06:55, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

The new image looks great! Good job! With regards, AnupamTalk 07:11, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
