I wanted to look up physics units of radiation exposure. "Radiation exposure" redirected me to Radioactive contamination, which does not address units of exposure to ionizing radiation. Now I have a keyword, "Ionizing", but I believe the public is better served not requiring such a keyword. "Radiation exposure" means two things, direct irradiation and radioactive contamination, and I feel the page should say so. jimswen (talk) 20:31, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Same here. A link was added to the general units page: Ionizing radiation units which helps clarify the numerous systems. Danski14(talk) 18:44, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

What does it really mean? edit

Every book on the subject I've seen says that radiation exposure means one thing: the ionization of air by photons as quantified by charge per unit mass. In other words it means Exposure (radiation). Are the other links on this page accurate? I'd like to see some references. Thanks. Rwflammang (talk) 23:49, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

You must not have read any medical topics.[1] [2] This is an issue of English as well - "exposing" something to something else.
Thanks for the links. And no, I have no medical background; I'm just a nuclear physicist. Rwflammang (talk) 02:13, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. If any of your work ever went bad, the medical team would be talking a lot about how much "radiation exposure" you had.MartinezMD (talk) 02:28, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
