What's the source for saying the song "Lone Ranger" was banned? It was played on Top Of The Pops, and was a quite substantial hit, reaching number 5 - hardly a victim of BBC politics. In Vitrio (talk) 23:08, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I believe it was put on the "restricted" list in 1976 when originally released. It was played on BBC when it was re-released in 1979 (presumably because the BBCs attitude to gay references/drugs had shifted, or they felt they couldn't ignore something that sold enough to get to No. 5, or no. 3 if you believe this link: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2174 !) Quantum Leap…? edit

“The term "quantum jump" (later to be commonly referred to as "atomic electron transition") was coined by the Cambridge team. I preferred "jump"” - this quote surely only makes any sense if the first statement is that the term coined in Cambridge was “quantum leap”; however as there is no link/ source it’s not possible to check if what was said was nonsense, or if the error has crept in in the transcription of it here. This page - https://quantum-jump.band-findr.com/bandinfo - ha " ... The term quantum "jump" (later to be commonly referred to as "leap") was coined by the Cambridge team. I preferred "jump", as it had more of a "soul / funk" music connotation"." - which was how our page read until - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Quantum_Jump&diff=587425064&oldid=586232491 - I will pipe the link back to the original wording. -- Beardo (talk) 23:10, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
