Does anyone know what is unique about Poteales?

That will depend on the circumscription of the order. Brya 19:06, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Using the APG 2 circumscription of the Proteales, a few common features of the order are having 1-2 ovules per carpel, having a large embryo and having nuclear endosperm development (in which the nuclei of the endosperm multiply for awhile before any cell walls form between them). Admittedly these are all a little obscure. Justinleif 04:55, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The representatives of the Proteales are very different from each other. The order contains plants that do not look alike at all. edit

My section title is a quote from the lead. It seems to me to say exactly the same thing twice, first in a slight nerdy way, then in a slightly childish one. Perhaps we should say it just once, in an accessible but encyclopaedic way? Not sure haw, though. Or:

The representatives of the Proteales are very different from each other, order containing plants that do not look alike at all.

But I'm no great fan of my own suggestion here.-- (talk) 14:44, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
