Merge proposal

edit

Since this is clearly the same individual, the sooner the better. Native "Pierre" or English "Peter" to be preferred? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 21:34, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I note that the Library of Congress catalogue has him as "Pierre"; the alternative "Petrus" is also to be found. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 21:51, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I see that Johnpacklambert, rather than engage in the "merge" discussion, has simply deleted the content of Pierre Marchant and turned it into a redirect to Peter Marchant, an article that lacks both the image and the information available in the other. This sort of attitude to building a collaborative encyclopedia is really rather wearing down my inclination to contribute at all. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 16:01, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • There is no reason to have two articles on one person, and nothing is keeping you from editing to add the image or other information. When no one has participated in a discussion for over 3 months and the articles are clear and unquestioned duplicates some action is clearly called for.John Pack Lambert (talk) 20:59, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
OK. Will do. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 08:20, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
