On the official page the original MSX Pariodius will be the 5th game so I changed it.

Parodius V edit

Treasure did quite well on Gradius V. I'm looking forward to their entry on Parodius. -James A. Calwell III 02:46, 16 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Non-Japanese Releases edit

The article says Parodius Da! and Gokujō Parodius! were released in Europe, but I believe it's actually the deluxe pack of those 2 games, and titled simply "Parodius". As far as I know, this is the only Parodius game outside of Japan. Anybody else got info? --ScarletSpiderDave 06:22, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The PS/Saturn versions were only released in the Deluxe Pack, yes. The arcade versions, however, were also released in Europe, not to mention the NES, SNES and Game Boy ports of Parodius Da!. TerokNor 08:25, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
The European release of Parodius for Playstation contains two playable games one named Parodius, the other Fantastic Journey. I'll have to double check that they correspond with Parodius Da! and Gokujō Parodius! Stx 12:54, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Just to confirm; the European Parodius release has Gokujō Parodius! as Fantastic Journey and Parodius Da! as Parodius. Stx 19:46, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Parodius-series logo.png edit

Image:Parodius-series logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Why Japanese titles? edit

Even though a number of Parodius games had an English release in Europe, the articles generally primarily refer to the Japanese titles and terms (including the article titles), with the European names seemingly being secondary, but it should be the other way around per the guidelines of the English Wikipedia. --Grandy02 (talk) 21:32, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Viewing older versions of the pages in the page histories implies that the first author/s were simply not aware of the existence of English releases. If nobody complains, I attempt to move Parodius Da! and Gokujō Parodius! to Parodius (1990) and Fantastic Journey respectively, due to the guideline of using English titles. --Grandy02 (talk) 09:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Otomedius edit

Is there a source for Otomedius being part of the Parodius series? I could not find any such claim on the OHP or on the Japanese Wikipedia. -Seventh Holy Scripture (talk) 21:51, 26 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I also think there is no point in including Otomedius with Parodius. Perhaps both of them share the same light-hearted environment and the fact of being derivative series from Parodius but, beyond that, I can't see why they should be considered as part of the same series.--Canyq (talk) 23:44, 26 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
