Dear fellow Wikipedians, This is Paolo Petrocelli, Founder of EMMA for Peace. I have completely re-edited the entire article, adding more relevant and correct information and updated reliable sources, while maintaining as much as possibile a neutral point of view (COI editing). Thank you for your supervision. - Musicdiplomacy (talk) 10:32, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You should not be reinstating an autobiography and overriding the decision made at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paolo Petrocelli. - MrOllie (talk) 11:46, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the clarification, Mrollie. The decision was made in 2016. I think there are now the terms for the re-creation of the page. Should I use the 'Request edit' template? Thanks for the guidance. - Musicdiplomacy (talk) 11:53, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Musicdiplomacy: Editors should not be writing an article about you based on this Forbes profile. Editors would have to use multiple independent reliable sources. GoingBatty (talk) 00:47, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
GoingBatty, it goes a lot further than this. Musicdiplomacy has a disclosed COI and a record of possibly innocent and also disclosed bad behaviour. They should not be contributing directly to this article or any related to it. They should not be writing autobiography.
But we still assume good faith and apply Hanlon's razor (they are much the same thing).
You linked to several policies and guidelines. But remember we are still dealing with a relative newbie here. We need to be a bit more helpful IMO.
In particular, the problem with the source given is that it is a primary source. It would be considered reliable so far as primary sources go, but it's still not what we want. And we need the user concerned to understand this. Agreed?
I suggest further discussion at User talk:Musicdiplomacy#Sources if necessary. Andrewa (talk) 16:49, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Andrewa: Musicdiplomacy disclosed their COI in the section above, and I'm pleased he used the {{request edit}} template instead of trying to write the article himself. I'll agree that I should have specified that the Forbes profile is a primary source. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 21:33, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Paolo Petrocelli's Article and Redirection edit

Hello, {{ping|Actualcpscm}} {{ping|MrOllie}} {{ping|Bilby}} {{ping|JalenFolf}} {{ping|DiploCult}} {{ping|MelanieN}} {{ping|Tate2016}} {{ping|Fairfax49}} {{ping|Filedelinkerbot}} {{ping|Jbmalone}} and All,

This request is regarding Paolo Petrocelli’s Wikipedia article. I tried creating an entry on him last week, but it was deleted shortly after. Wikipedia says that there’s a pre-existing article titled ‘Paolo Petrocelli,’ but whenever I click on it, it redirects us to his company’s Wikipedia article, EMMA For Peace. Please note that he is notable; he has articles about him published in Financial Times, The Times, Forbes, Huffington Post, United Nations official website, and UNESCO, so there is no issue on that front.  Additionally, I would like to update the article with new relevant information. Moreover, he has Wikipedia entries in other languages, including Arabic, Spanish, and French. I also intend on removing the biography section in his EMMA For Peace, his company, Wikipedia entry. In short, I am requesting the removal of the redirection of his name to his company's article so as to be able to create a separate article in his name. There was an AFD discussion about this, and that discussion found that he was not independently notable (all the coverage was really about EMMA for Peace). That outcome should stand. Given the history of sockpuppet editing and undisclosed paid editors on this topic, I respectfully suggest you should spend your time on an article that actually has some chance of sticking around.
