Merge Proposal: Pakefield Primary School

I'm proposing that Pakefield Primary School be merged into Pakefield. The content in the school article is very limited and would never survive an AfD. It's had a merge hat note on it for 18 months years with very limited comments made. This is a courtesy proposal. We can take the limited content that's notable and add it here with no problems. Artical In New Format

This artical has been re-wrote with sections all mereged to history part as this seems the relivent place for it in order to comply with style. It has referances and there for should not be changed now this has been done.(Darkcover21 (talk) 21:38, 16 April 2011 (UTC))

No, it needs to have a history section, but if that history section deals with things which are happening now then it's not history. Trust me on this - I know the Modern Pakefield heading is a bit dodgy, but it was a way of grouping things together at a time when the article had some major problems associated with it (see above). I'm sorry, but if you feel that strongly about it ask for a third opinion - other than that we should go with the established consensus. Blue Square Thing (talk) 22:11, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Pakefield Lighthouse added to history section

Ive added Pakefield Lighthouse to history section with referances.

Pakefield Lighthouse, located at cliff tops at Pontin's Holiday Park in Pakefield a suburb of Lowestoft, it was built and opened in 1831 but light was first lit in 1832. It stands 10 meters above sea level and it used to emit a red light which had a range of 9 nautical miles. However; it was extinguished in 1864. Governance section

Anyone have any strong views about keeping the tables in this? It's a bit cluttered frankly and might be better served with a summary rather than a bunch of tabular information? Blue Square Thing (talk) 15:50, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

I think it should be kept as it is a key fact on Pakeield, also how come there is next to nothing about present day Pakeield, loads on history but none on current day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.230.55 (talk) 21:35, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

There's four paragraphs on each. The problem with the modern section is that it's too far down the page - hence my suggestion to remove the tables and make that section far more obvious. Blue Square Thing (talk) 13:26, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

What coastal erosion?

The chatty conversational gossipy reference given says that around 1900 a new pier was built that resulted in erosion, as shown in the dramatic old photos in the article. But that was 120 years ago. The beach at Pakefield is now covered in vegetation, indicating that it has been stable for a long time. I wish references to erosion could be authoritative and objective rather than just repeating hearsay. Compare with the half-mile of dunes in front of the old sea defences at Kessingland - no erosion there. Pakefield football club and village green

The large recreation grounds, which include Kirkley & Pakefield F.C., and Pakefield village green are both adjacent to Walmer Road. The green has an ornamental village sign.
