Purple cow?

The description for Cowbella is as follows: A purple cow who loves princesses, unicorns, and all sorts of girly things. She had an Italian accent in the music videos, but she does not have it in the TV series. She sleeps with a stuffed unicorn named Princess Lucy. "Cow" is a link on the page, but purple cow has its own page, too. Should I make "purple cow" a link, too? --67.85.242.74 (talk) 12:03, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Unless something can be found that explicitly says the color choice for Cowbella was specifically done as a subtle reference to the poem, then no. I wouldn't be surprised if it was done as such, but with no proof, that's just me guessing, and that doesn't belong in the article. oknazevad (talk) 04:58, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Puppeteers

Hello. I am here to notify you all that several users have been changing the puppeteers of Cowbella and Apollo to John Kennedy and Alice Dinnean. This is incorrect, but the characters were previously performed by those puppeteers. They are currently performed by Sarah Lyle and Michael Winsor. Do not change those names. Thank you. Something odd...

This show aired in the US before airing in its country of origin, the UK! Should I add this to the article in some form or not? SalmonCat (talk) 00:35, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

More information is needed. The existing episode air dates are not sourced, so I don't know how we can say with any authority what aired where first. If you can demonstrate that the series aired in the US before it aired in the UK, it would seem that a note at the top of the episodes section would be warranted if you could make that assertion about the entire series. If we're talking about a few episodes airing in the US first, line notes for those episodes might be warranted, ex:

Blankie in the Laundry (November 5, 2010) - Squacky is disappointed when his blankie is in the laundry, because he feels he has got nothing to hug. Note: This episode first aired in the US on DD/MM/YYYY^[1]

However, if this series was produced in the UK specifically for a US audience, then a distinction might not need to be made because the intended audience received the programming when expected. As I said, more information is required here. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:52, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Much of the confusion stems from the air dates that were given were wrong and, as far as I can tell, completely made up; they were actually dates from before the episodes were produced! The shorts were made and aired in 2008, the full-length episodes didn't start until 2011.

The other major part of that was the change in production companies. The original shorts were shot in the US and co-produced by 4Kids, while the full-length episodes were co-produced by the Northern Ireland-based Sixteen South, at which point production was moved to Northern Ireland (complete with the recastings mentioned in the above section).

Now whether the full-length episodes aired in the US before the UK, I cannot say, but since it was a US/UK co-production, to say that it was odd that it aired in the US first itself seems pointless. oknazevad (talk) 18:02, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
