Is NCT still a municipal operator? edit

Given that a majority shareholding of NCT is still in the hands of the city council, does this mean that it should still be classified as a municipal bus company rather than a pseudo-Transdev subsidiary? Divy 09:31, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, NCT is listed on the Municipal bus companies page, so there's clearly a discrepancy here that needs resolving. Personally I'd say that 83% municipally owned was a municipal company, though I'm no specialist. 86.135.7.198 15:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The definition of a municipal company is governed by national legislation. This regards any company of any type in which a council has 50% or more of the shares as a local authority controlled company. This means that NCT is definitely a controlled company, or a "municipal" in the more commonly used phrase. BrianNottingham (talk) 19:27, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adding more photos edit

Hiya, just wondering if there were any folks that took pictures around the city regularly. I've just added a picture, but i'd be great if we could add various photos of the bus fleet. Anyone up for this? WietsE 09:16, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Route List edit

I've been browsing Wikipedia this evening and noticed that some operators have much nicer looking route number sections - e.g. Metro Coastlines, and Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company. I have currently written an example of how it could be improved (only for Navy and Green line services at present) - has anyone got any suggestions, particularly for the introductory wording? Multiple issues edit

Today I replaced the numerous article cleanup tag with one "multiple issues" tag as there were previously too many. For reference, the separate issues are:

Number of routes edit

First, is the number of routes operated actually relevant or notable.

If it is, how has this been measured, as it wasn't referenced. bustimes.org gives 95 routes, VOSA give 72 registrations. The problem is what do variations on routes count as, giving different values dependent on the source used. Is a night bus the same route as it's day variant, even if they have different numbers?

I've taken it out for now, as I don't think it is really relevant to the article, and no one value can ever be given. ~~ OxonAlex - talk 10:33, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
