Reference formatting edit

I used the same reference twice, and wanted to avoid using the < ref > tag if possible. The way the citations appear seems kind of off to me, but I'm confused by the many different citation help pages I've read. I'd appreciate someone else taking a look and either modifying it to something more suitable, or letting me know that the current version's okay. Thanks. --Pastafarian Nights 01:18, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can see this article is clean enough. I'm removing the cleanup tag. --Brad101 11:48, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Nat geographic world premier edition cover.JPG edit

Image:Nat geographic world premier edition cover.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Nixed the Advertising and Product placement sections edit

In late 2008 an editor made 3 total edits this article before "retiring"; this editor added fairly detailed (and likely accurate) information on the amount of advertising in the December 2008 issue, along with a few instances of what they deemed "product placements" for the same issue. No context was provided for why these might be significant, and I don't see how they could be regarded as such. Likewise, I don't think it's a stretch to regard these additions as non-encyclopedic. Therefore I have removed them. I must mention here that National Geographic Kids is a client of my employer. I don't have any immediate plans to work on this article, but if anyone has questions about this edit or any others I might contribute in the future, please contact me on my Talk page.
