Italics edit

Should "Nakaz" be italicized, or no? I notice it is in the opening sentence and then not later on. Nice article! --Khazar 03:39, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cyrillic is customarily not italicized in Wiki. This has been discussed many times before. --Ghirla -трёп- 12:45, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can we make "Bolshoi Nakaz" link to here? I don't know how. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.125.3.145 (talk) 00:58, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

State of the Empire edit

The section headed "State of the Empire" concludes with this sentence (my emphasis)

"Inconsistencies like this prove that Catherine was trying to use the Enlightenment to enforce her autocratic regime."

That's not an unreasonable conclusion to draw, but I wonder whether it's a viewpoint, rather than an established fact. It's hard to see how such a formulation is anything but a viewpoint -- even if it's a highly persuasive viewpoint.
