All of the Lights
All of the Lights was never released as a single, yet it's listed as one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.72.193.254 (talk) 11:39, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

There should be mention of Aphex Twin's 'Avril 14' for KW's song 'Blame Game'. It's a integral part of KW's song forming the main melody/hook. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevinkace (talk • contribs) 20:42, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Under the tracking list there is the sample credits. For "Lost in the Woods" there is a sample credited to Bon Iver for "The Woods" when it really should just be "Woods." citation: http://www.boniver.org/disc.php

- Sample credits are according to liner notes. Dan56 (talk) 06:55, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Already done It appears that someone has already made the change. @Dan56: though verification trumps "truth", we have verification from Iver's catalog that he never recorded a song called "The Woods;" given RS that disagree, we can evaluate the two and pick one if necessary, or list both if we can't tell which one is accurate. In this case, I think it's pretty clear that the actual original recording trumps whatever is written in the liner notes of an album that sampled it. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:22, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Top album of 2010: Not Accurate
"In December 2010, Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was named the top album of 2010"
This should be removed. 1) This is patently inaccurate. There is no absolute Top Album of the Year. 2) It doesn't represent the source correctly. The Billboard Article it links to this has it as ONE of the critics top album 3) It says it is just "the top album of 2010", not "a top album of 2010" or "Billboard's top album of the year" (which still wouldn't be correct).
This should be changed to something of the effect of: Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has been featured at the top of multiple Best Album of the Year lists, no? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.48.163.133 (talk) 20:45, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- You are correct; I have removed it for the time being. Annual lists are slowly being rolled out and these could be compiled in the reception section later. Yves (talk) 20:59, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Table for Accolades
I definitely think a table is required for the accolades section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.155.44.216 (talk) 16:54, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Regarding used cover art
I know Wikipedia has no censor laws. However, wouldn't it be more wise to use one of the less-controversial covers as the main cover used? Especially since it has been banned in numerous countries it was released in. I am only suggesting this as there are other valid covers for the place. - ziansh | talk 16:46, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Kanye West actually reached the TOP50 chart in Czech Republic - rank #49, can anyone add this information to the other charts positions? Here's the source: http://www.ifpicr.cz/hitparada/index.php?a=titul&hitparada=14&titul=148689&sec=033c0ec35371ebdda9615f9c61df43e4 Thanks

Lyrical Content Of " Gorgeous" . "Power" , "Monster", "So Appalled" And "Blame Game"
I request that the lyrical content of these songs should be described. In the "Contents section of the page it says:
"Inspired by his two-year relationship with model Amber Rose, "Hell of a Life" contains a psychedelic rock sample and a lyrical narrative about marrying a porn star.[32][33] According to music writer Ryan Dombal, the song "attempts to bend its central credo— 'no more drugs for me, pussy and religion is all I need'— into a noble pursuit. [...] [T]he song blurs the line between fantasy and reality, sex and romance, love and religion, until no lines exist at all. It's a zonked nirvana with demons underneath; a fragile state that can't help but break apart on the very next song". But yet it doesn't mention the specific song. Iam left feeling that the contents section is incomplete. I respectfully request that this be acted upon

Can I add an Accolades list on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It will be a new section just under the Charts section. I feel there should be an accolades table because it would provide a clearer way for readers.

It is made in the same format as Arcade Fire's The Suburbs (Arcade Fire album)'s accolades list. Please tell me if it is appropriate for this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Melrocks50 (talk • contribs) 11:12, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Wikipedia prefers content that can be made out in prose to be made out that way over list formats ( WP:MOS). The other article you cited, The Suburbs, is a stylistic preference and consistency should be within a single article, not external consistency. As prose in MBDF, the year-end list information is clear and cohesive, and does not need to be formatted in another style. However, if with the passage of time, more notable accolades/recognitions are made available, such as all-time lists or decade-best lists, a list may be more appropriate, as warranted for the article It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
- I don't see why it is still inappropriate for the article at this point and time though, it is still a relatively new album and since the suburbs album has this, why shouldn't this album as they're both equally critically acclaimed. You are a bigger expert on this than me though so I am looking forward to a clear answer from you. Thank you for your time.
Melrocks50 (talk) 18:12, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Because it is clearer in prose and the circumstances don't warrant a list. WP:MOS states that "Prose is preferred in articles as prose allows the presentation of detail and clarification of context, in a way that a simple list may not. Prose flows, like one person speaking to another, and is best suited to articles, because their purpose is to explain". A notable disadvantage of a list in the case of MBDF article would be excluding the criticism/comments included with given accolades, which give context to the recognition of the album by those who recognized it. As for citing The Suburbs, Wikipedia promotes consistency only within an article, so different articles do not have to be consistent in style with each other. That article may also be better served this way. Dan56 (talk) 20:19, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- You say in your edit summary "You seem to be the only person who has a problem with my list. Most acclaimed albums have lists like this even if they have their own section". Most people who edit music-related articles are fans, and there can be non-neutral point of view, giving way to undue weight and fancruft. Most articles are also not GA/FA quality articles. My previous comments mentioned WP:MOS and lists vs. prose, and comparing one article to another. Dan56 (talk) 21:40, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- In a previous edit summary, you also mentioned adding the list to "show how critically acclaimed the album is, [making] it easier for readers to understand". There are two sections, both with multiple paragraphs, about its acclaim, and that's enough? Dan56 (talk) 21:45, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Grammy snub
I feel like it would be good to write about the snub at the Grammy's. I can provide links with many different popular sources like Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, USA Today, etc..All talking about how it was snubbed, and can give links to MTV proving that it was trending on twitter right after the noms and hit the iTunes top 200 albums again. It would provide a nice article, considering it's outcry after the nomination was louder than any other album this year. Let me know if you'll add it, than I'll provide links and the paragraph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.137.168.41 (talk) 03:56, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I agree. This album, when it was released, was considered to be the most imaginative album since SGT. Pepper, and i too can say that i also saw numerous publications heaping scorn at the academy for snubbing MBDTF for Album Of The Year. I hope what has been suggested can be done. --121.219.231.111 (talk) 03:46, 31 January 2012 (UTC) Lachie Bennett - Lewis
