Talk:Moscow Cathedral Mosque

Changing title of the article to Moscow Congregational Mosque edit

The translation of the mosque's name is wrong. In Russian, соборная is ambiguous. It can either refer to 'cathedral', or to 'congregation'. In the case of mosques, the congregation of the mosque is meant. Соборная мечеть is a mosque that can hold the maximum number of Muslims during the Friday prayer. Also, the Oxford Dictionary of English defines 'cathedral' as "the principal church of a diocese". It also defines 'church' as "a building used for public Christian worship".

I suggest that the name of the article be changed to correct this mistake in translation. Denghu (talk) 14:10, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
