Misa's Life span

Hey I read that if a shinigami dies saving a human that death gods life span goes to the human. So when Jealous(Gelus) gave his life to save Misa she would then inherit his remaining life span. It doesn't matter so much considering she died in the end, and the details of the changing life-span would just be fancrufty (Ironically, Misa was born on Christmas Day and died on Valentine's). You are still somewhat correct. It's all dependant on how much life Gelus had to give her in the first place. As well, the conversion of human days into shinigami - we can't definitely reason it's 1:1. Rem gave it up after the second trade so it would have extended Misa's life and -possibly- covered up what was taken by Ryuk. The original research lies in all those points so it would just be unnecessary to go into it further without proper citations as well as avoiding blind speculation. The "numbers" appearing in Shinigami code for life left don't mean anything. Obha and Obata forgot the code, so they just made up the rest of the numbers. WhisperToMe (talk) 03:15, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Christian?

The Christian Symbolism in this series disturbs me greatly. At first I figured that all of the crosses were symbols of execution devices (being crucifixes and what-have-you) but I noticed that Misa has a few catholic images (including a picture of Jesus) in her room in the first page of chapter 29. Unless it's stated that Misa is part of any particular faith, it's only speculation. As far as the symbolism goes, we can suspect that Christianity was used because it is pointed out as the most followed religion. Islam numbers as second largest then Hinduism, etc... The writers were likely going on popularity. Ryuk even mentions in his first encounter with Light that he wrote the rules in English because it is "the most popular" language in the human world. While in terms of speakers this isn't true since Mandarin leads in that category, English is more widely spoken across the world - instead of concentrated in its homeland which is the case of Mandarin - and is often taught as a second language. Misa's suicide

In the brazilian community, we were discussing about the possibility of Misa's suicide in the end of the anime version beign caused by Ryuk. What dou you guys think about it or adding it to the article? In the manga, she just dies one year later, but, in the anime, she is seen dying at the same time as Light dies.

Since she was also an user of the Death Note, Ryuk could have written her name on it right after he wrote Light's, near the end, thus killing both Death Note users uncovered by the police.

I know her suicide isn't seen, but it's quite clear it happened. Also, she seemed too calm... almost "controlled" on those scenes. What do you guys think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.142.58.18 (talk) 13:13, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Friggin' wikinerd. They were asking for other people's opinions, not begging you for permission to add it to the article; learn to read the whole post rather than all but the last sentence.

On topic, however, I would definitely not rule out the possibility of that happening... As I recall, Ryuk is seen hanging around the human world for a short while during and/or after Light's death, so it's not unlikely that he'd be waiting for the deaths of all users of the Death Note; going further I wouldn't put it beyond his character to have killed her off himself, although it does seem somewhat strange for a shinigami to use a cause of death rather than just writing the name and waiting for the heart attack to occur. --71.74.228.230 (talk) 01:40, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Reception needs more opinions

• If Pepirium's is the only reliable source that gives a review, then yes, it is a real review section.
• If you want more reviews, you need to search reliable sources (Wikipedia:Reliable sources gives guidance on this) for reviews that discuss Misa in particular
• Newspapers are fair game. Anime review magazines like Newtype are fair game
• Most personal websites are NOT okay to cite

There's a thing known as "undue weight". A paragraph of "She sucks she sucks she sucks she sucks she sucks she sucks" from one guy at a barely-reliable gaming site, followed by a blink-and-you'll-miss-it "Maybe she doesn't suck" from a different guy at a well-known and unquestionably reliable source isn't balanced in anyone's imagination. 76.22.25.75 (talk) 05:03, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
