Origin of the term "market survey"
editIs it worth adding that this was common practice in France before WW2. Companies would go to a market and ask the visitors what they wanted from a certain product. An example of this is the company Citroen who conducted a market survey to determine what their new people's car should have as minimum requirements. They designed the car specifically to what the people asked for.
