You have a great outline for what you want to do with the page. Maybe add a section for what she did (if anything notable) after retirement and what she achieved while at Stanford. Overall you have a great platform to work with, it just needs the information filled in. --Ttheiss4 (talk) 03:50, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

So this is a start. But the draft needs a lot more attention. You might look at similar articles on famous academics to see the topics covered. You'll want to talk about her contribution to the field.Cassell04 (talk) 17:03, 14 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your article seems to be coming together pretty smoothly. You provide a clear approach to the structure of your article and for what is done so far it looks like your sourcing is reliable. You should find your focus on her particular ideology and contributions to the field. I'm looking forward to see your article come to fruition! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cantoncic (talkcontribs) 01:50, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your article appears well put together. I like the fact that you're focusing on someone with a well defined area of expertise. I wonder if you might be able to find policy that she has informed, or advisory roles that she has played. If she. has had anything in these areas, they might provide good subheadings in the "career" section. Wesley J 17 (talk) 16:21, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I like the structure and considerations that went into the article to expand its scope and increase the visibility of Maragert Simms's contributions and achievements in different areas. I think the approach you took to revising the career and early life sections truly humanizes Simms. I would only suggest breaking the article down further to make it slightly easier to understand and follow. Otherwise, minor edits such as adding images and including diverse/differing perspectives from various sources could improve the article's quality even more. I think these could improve the article overall as they would increase the complexity of Simms as a person as well as put her work in context to improve understanding of her life overall.Navenp (talk) 23:03, 3 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Expansion of Article edit

As Cassell04 mentioned above, this is merely the beginning of this article. As a widely accomplished economist from an underrepresented demographic, Dr. Simm's page deserves to be more comprehensive. Hopefully, this will increase exposure of her work to the general public and serve as a role model to young people. I plan to detail some of the most significant research projects she has led and their influence on policies regarding societal inequality. Additionally, I would like to correct some biographical errors about Dr. Simms's life and provide information on her accolades and accomplishments. I now have approval from my instructor, so this is confirmation that I will be doing work on this article! Shortly, I will be updating my sandbox with a more detailed description of my planned work along with an annotated bibliography. As of now, the intentions of improvments I listed above still hold true. Isabelle183 (talk) 04:28, 1 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I started working on expanding the "Early Life" section with information from an already-cited source, listed second under references. Please feel free to critique or make suggestions on my edits! Isabelle183 (talk) 01:00, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Great job in expanding the information in the article! I believe you truly contributed to increasing its quality. I love the way you chronologically assembled all of the material regarding Margaret Simms and all of the information you were able to contribute. I would improve the article by rewriting some sentences by quoting Margaret Simms herself to have clear opinions in the article. Some grammar needs to be revised to improve the overall readability and would help the generalized public further understand Margaret Simm’s work. Regarding illustrations, I would also try to add a picture of Margaret Simms to make the article more appealing to the general public. Try to add more links from her involvement in various organizations to add more traffic to the page. BryantPol (talk) 23:12, 3 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
