María Elena Holly → Maria Elena Holly – The acute accent is not used in the article's sources (save one) and doesn't show up in outside resources from the pre-Wikipedia era. The subject is notable for activities in the US where such accents are not typically used. — AjaxSmack 16:58, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose The accent on her name is registered in her birth certificate since she is Puerto Rican where the Spanish accent custom is still used. Tony the Marine (talk) 23:34, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose Not convinced by the rationale that accents are "not typically used" in the US. Here are some current members of congress with articles using accents:Raúl Grijalva, Tony Cárdenas, Linda Sánchez, Nanette Barragán, Carlos A. Giménez, María Elvira Salazar, Mario Díaz-Balart and Chuy García. That's from looking at about four states. AusLondonder (talk) 21:22, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose Her name is María. That some writers choose to not respect that is a blot on them, not a reason to distort her name in an encyclopedia. Barefoot through the chollas (talk) 23:31, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
