29th June Whoever the IP is currently reverting back to their own change, please stop. I was about to revert again myself but noticed someone else already had. The phrase "disco stick" is used as a representation of a penis, and is therefore a metaphor. Changing "is a metaphor for" to "means" adds nothing to the article and is grammatically unsound, anyway. The fact three people have tried to revert your change in the space of 20 minutes probably says something. Audigex (talk) 06:39, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Controversy

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,25302931-5001026,00.html Receiving controversy in Australia due to the music video. Should add it in the article someone! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.51.103.212 (talk) 12:14, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Already added in article. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:55, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Cover

Stop adding the cover, it is not the official cover. It doesn't feature her official writing.   Done Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 01:01, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

I agree and the source is not official. It is a fan based web-page! Nothing should be uploaded untill the official cover art has been released! Child Funk (talk) 06:05, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Release Date

The release date is listed on here as "March, 17" but has no official source. I'll be taking that off until the source is actually shown.

Currently, the article lists that the Australian CD Single release date is set for May, 1 2009. Could someone please provide a reference for this as it is currently unsourced and can be deceiving. Thanks and happy editing! Child Funk (talk) 06:53, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Merge with LoveGame

yes merge these articles, makes perfect sense Mister sparky (talk) 16:09, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

The other page is called Lovegame, the G needs to be Capitalized. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.167.84.214 (talk) 16:34, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
have tried changing the name to LoveGame but the move is not allowed, any ideas? Mister sparky (talk) 16:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Hold off on the merge or move. The other article has exactly the same content, and is up for deletion, having been deleted before (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/LoveGame (Lady GaGa Song)). If the single has now charted then the AfD is moot, but I suggest working on this article and leaving the other one alone for the moment. §FreeRangeFrog 17:08, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
The other Lovegame article has been redirected here. But I should say donot add this single link to the other GaGa articles untill and unless single release is confirmed. --Legolas (talktome) 05:44, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
The single had charted at the time of the AFD. Something that was pointed out at the AFD! SunCreator (talk) 20:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Who wrote it is being released on March, 17? Where did you find this info? Source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.97.116 (talk) 08:44, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Is it just me or is her lip synching awful?? It looks like she's singing a different song half the time. 147.197.190.40 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:11, 6 March 2009 (UTC).

On youtube there are vids. which are not complete and out of synch, try Gaga's official channel. All music videos are lipped synched anyway.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 11:18, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

You will just have to watch it on her official Youtube channel or purchase it from the iTunes store if you live in the United States or Canada. That way you can watch it in better quality + resolution Child Funk (talk) 21:38, 6 March 2009 (UTC) Thats pretty right. Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 23:02, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Australian Radios

It has been added to Australian radio's. Just added today, I heard it for myself. Universal sent it to radio's this week. It made it's debut at #21 on the hot 30 countdown! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.184.91.198 (talk) 08:43, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Really? This may be true. I've missed last nights show though. I looked at last nights hot 30 on the site and LoveGame is no where to be seen. I'll try and listen tonight to see if it makes an appearence. I'll try and vote for it on the site! Hopefully others will do the same! --Child Funk (talk) 04:58, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

I heard it on a canada 20 count down as well...if it matters. - random user —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.167.94.16 (talk) 09:58, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

The site was updated. LoveGame appeared at #21 on Monday's show. I listened on Tuesday's show and it appeared again. It jumped up a couple of places. I can't remember the exact amount but i'm sure if you look at the site, it should be there. Sometimes they are a bit late to update it so it may be showing Monday's instead of Tuesday's top 30! *Child Funk (talk) 21:29, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

It was #17 last night ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.36.208 (talk) 04:52, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

WOW, NOW #11! AMAZING PROGRESS! It only 3 days it has reached #11! woo! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.36.208 (talk) 10:05, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Due to airplay, digital downloads of "LoveGame" have now increased. Last night it was in The Top 100 songs. With airplay each night it is sure to rise. Hopefully it can reach the top ten in the ARIA charts! Eh Eh has only peaked at 15, GaGa's first hit no yet found in the top then and digital downloads have decreased of Eh Eh ever since LoveGame first gained airplay. LoveGame is more commercial (POP) then Eh Eh, so hopefully it will do better. Child Funk (talk) 21:30, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Just to remind all of you. This is not a forum for discussing these things. --Legolas (talktome) 04:17, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Article Cleanup

I don't know about you guys but I feel as though the article is looking a bit messy. It needs a good cleanup. I didn't want to make any changes as I felt that it would be better to discuss it here before much dispute occurs. Share your thoughts! Child Funk (talk) 09:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

You want me to help??   --Legolas (talktome) 09:19, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that would be great. I have to go within the next half an hour so I won't be able to work on it untill tommorow but feel free to begin!   Child Funk (talk) 09:27, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, looks a bit messy, eh? Also, I think that the image for the video should be changed to one where she is wearing the pint and glitter, anyone agree? Since that is the most talked about part of the video. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.211.151 (talk) 23:06, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess I kinda agree. The scene in which glitter and paint are found on Gaga's body is one of the highlights of the video. It looks stunning. Whether to put an image of that up, I don't know. We will have to get more opinions. Child Funk (talk)

The article is still looking pretty ugly. We need to expand it yet keep it aesthetically pleasing at the same time. This is going to be a hard job but I know we can do better! Child Funk (talk) 11:30, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Official Cover Art??

hey people through some random browsing on the net i found an australian website that has the apparent official cover art for lovegame and it says that the record company has said it will be the 4th single in australia released in late april. http://auspop.blogspot.com/2009/03/gagas-lovegame.html is this reliable? can we trust it? thanks Mister sparky (talk) 17:49, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

No, it's from blogspot, it's not to be trusted nor is it an official source. Sorry, I know desperate you are to find the cover artwork. I am to but I'm going to wait it out until the single release is actually announced! Child Funk (talk) 21:25, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

yea i thought as much. it's so frustrating isn't it. ah well. we'll just have to wait a bit longer Mister sparky (talk) 22:35, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Somebody added it, was removed. --Legolas (talktome) 03:53, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
I had added an image to this page for the single, but it was removed because I had to add some extra information and I have no clue what I am supposed to put there. As far as an official image for the single, I am not sure how anyone can claim any image as the original because quite often what might be the image on the Australian single may completely different on the American or Canadian single. I suggest people check out www.discogs.com. If your like me and look for covert art to go with an mp3 you have, you can usually find it there if a single has been released. When you look at various releases from different countries You may find that many have the same cover art, but some look completely different as well. My experience is that although there may be an official cover image for individual countries, there is no such thing when it comes to international releases. The image I found came from a search typing LoveGame on Google then clicking Images. It is on some sight posting the lyrics. i can send it to anyone who wants it. (MoovieStarz (talk) 02:40, 20 March 2009 (UTC))
In a search I have found the same cover art at 3 sights http://www.konvictmuzik.net/news/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/lady-gaga-lovegame.jpg Take it for what is and debate whether it is official or not. This the second image I have seen for the single. (03:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MoovieStarz (talkcontribs)
Still no official release or source. Konvictmuzik is a bad source. --Legolas (talktome) 04:18, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Um... how can it be a 'BAD' source, it's her record label = relable source.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:58, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Appearance in Konvictmuzik is bad because its a subsidiary of Interscope. It is Interscope which publishes news about next singles and upcoming projects. Konvictmuzik on a regular basis creates cover arts and updates in hte site. Their inclusion is not reliable. Only if it comes up on Interscope records, then we can include it. --Legolas (talktome) 08:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually. Konvictmuzik.net is a fansite. The official site for Konvict can be found here! --Child Funk (talk) 05:24, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Cheers! --Legolas (talktome) 05:32, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Current Billboard Top100

Is there a public link to this? The summary link is out of date [1]. The current position is #6 [2] but it would be nice to have an offical looking link. SunCreator (talk) 01:36, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Singles Chronology

The article shows the track listing for "The Fame", but by now, it should say "Lady GaGa's Singles Chronology". The songs the should be shown under that are Poker Face (2008) and then LoveGame(2009). This article looks as if it hasn't been updated in a long time. Someone needs to fix it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.0.95.132 (talk) 21:24, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Official cover

http://img18.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gagalovegame.jpg

That may be it. It looks pretty sweet but something tells me that it is still fan made. Where it says Lady Gaga down the bottom, on most cd's it is spelt like
LADY | GAGA instead of just LADY GAGA. We will just have to wait for a reliable soruce to claim it's single cover art! Child Funk (talk) 05:01, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Fancruft --Legolas (talktome) 05:08, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
It's not fancraft, if you don't believe me then wait and see. This is the real deal! AuspOp gets all their info from the label it'self thats how I kew it was sent to radio's, they told me. They even posted it on their website:

http://auspop.blogspot.com/ It's official ;) It's release date is expected late april for Oz. —Precedingunsigned comment added by121.217.36.208 (talk) 07:31, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Hah, a blog which claims to be in affiliation with the recording company? Gimme a break. They wrote Just Dance as Let's Dance, nothing more can be expected out of it. --Legolas (talktome) 07:51, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

I've been getting my information from them since the last year! They have the release scheduele for songs for the next couple of months so I wouldn't be saying that. It's ok if you don't want to add it, but the official cover will look like that so it will be added now or later, doesn't bother me. Saying "Lets Dance' could be a simple mistake. They also get the chart week's sales which I recieve from them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.36.208 (talk) 08:11, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry but it's from Blogspot. An everyday person like me could make one, put any information on there and fool people like you on there. Blogs can be edited by the general public therefore making it an unreliable source. Keep in mind that it hasn't even been announced as a single yet! We have to wait untill the official release of the artwork along with the single! --Child Funk (talk) 09:14, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

I've been following it for one year and it cannot be edited by the general public, they have locked theirs. They obviously have a way to get this information, just wait, they will have the release date soon ;) and it will be right. Everyone that said "Eh, Eh" will be released on January 31 got it from AuspOp then the big W website posted it with the exact same cover. I don't mind though, just count on this, that is the official cover. Even wait until Gaga confirms it, It'll be the same.

  • Apologies for the stuff-up re: 'Let's Dance'/'Just Dance' - yes, an innocent mistake. And the jpeg did indeed come direct from Universal Music Australia. The auspOp team. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.35.92 (talk) 13:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh for Pete's Sake, this is a despicable form of sockpuppetry. I think an incident should be reported. --Legolas (talktome) 15:22, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

My god, everyone relax! Anyway, if you go through AuspOp's history you will see the "Eh, Eh" single cover released there before ANYWHERE else. It's true, bt it's fine if you don't want to add it :P I am just pointing it out, not trying to start anything. We can just wait until Lady G confirms that cover.

Hey guys. I noticed that people keep uploading the LoveGame cover from Lady Gaga Brazil. I am unsure if it is a fan site or not because it it's www.ladygaga.com.br however it does not match the design layouts of the official US and Australian sites. It looks unofficial and fan made. Share your thoughts! I have been reverting all edits putting the cover in the infobox, should I keep doing so or should I leave it if the source is official? --Child Funk (talk) 01:58, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Revert untill confirmed as official. --Legolas (talktome) 03:42, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

That cover was first uploaded my AuspOp, then placed onto my website "ultimate-ladygaga.org" I took the "Eh, Eh" & "Poker Face" cover from their site and both times it was correct, but just keep reverting if you don't trust them even though it is the real one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.211.151 (talk) 04:00, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

You have a Gaga website-OMFG with the OMFG look. Anyway it needs to be official, provide a RELIABLE source and Bang on the article.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:57, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

LOL. Yeahm pretty cool. Anyway, I have an official source and it is Itunes! Go to Canadian Itunes and go to GaGa's page on it, you will see something called "LoveGame Remixes - Single" it countains the same cover that I showed earlier. Even though it is the remix cover, it says "Single" all songs on Itunes that are remixes and have "Single" put on them have the exact same cover as the official single. By the way, it made its debut on the Aria singles chart at #92, look at the chartifacts section of the site as it says it there. I recieved info that the CD single is out in australia on April 17, I know you guys won't believe me so you don't have to add it, you can just wait and see until a official source confirms it for April 17 ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.131.141 (talk) 08:49, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok, since I was right about the cover, do you believe me that the CD single is being released on April 17 in Australia? If so put it, if you don't then just leave it and don't. But I'll be on the look out for an online website listing it for a release and then prove myself with a source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.233.242 (talk) 07:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Its not about believing you. Its completely about sources. If you provide a valid source, its ready to go in the article, if not, delete it is!! You don't have to prove yourself, there's no award for it here. :) --Legolas (talktome) 08:15, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Music Video Screenshot

I say we need a new screenshot of the music video. The one in there now is fine although, it is barely discussed in the article. We need something that people remember the video for! A screenshot of her with the body paint and glitter would be good as it is highly discussed! Child Funk (talk) 11:03, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

I agree! I don't get why someone changed it in the first place.

That screenshot badly failed wP:NFCC#8. It wasn't changed, it was deleted. Child Funk, I would advice you to stop uploading pictures which are complete violation of WP:NFCC. A time will come when warnings will be sent against such continuous uploads. --Legolas (talktome) 05:30, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
I haven't uploaded anything that fails WP:NFCC#8 since that screenshot of LoveGame back all that time ago, I can't really stop if I haven't done anything lol. I know the rules better than what I once did, well atleast I think :) What I meant was, we could get a better screenshot then the one before (that I uploaded) displaying more of her body. Perhaps similar to that one that Dance-Pop uploaded before the first version of this article was removed. It's highly discussed and increases the readers understanding of the music video description of the article. What do you think? Child Funk (talk) 06:09, 28 March 06:10
Ya your edits have improved. PS you should really work on that Short Stack song. --Legolas (talktome) 05:31, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

We never said that we wanted the old one! I just stated the fact it was changed. We want a NEW one, because the whole body part is the most discussed part of the video.

The thing is that, body paint and glitter can be described by prose itself rather than image, and hence any pic you guys upload of Gaga in glitter will fail WP:NFCC#8. Hence if you wanna upload, upload something like her holding the discostick, or wearing barbed wire glasses or the final gesture towards the camera. Otherwise any other image are vio of NFCC. --Legolas (talktome) 05:31, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
The one with her tormenting the men with her disco stick would be great. Also it displays the chain linked glasses, two things rather than one. I'll consider it :) Child Funk (talk) 10:17, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

LOVE the new image! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.51.103.212 (talk) 12:04, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

This new image is better for commentary and more strong on WP:NFCC#8. Now we need to develop the background and music structure. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:12, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Pic is great, really highlights the songs lyric content adn will help the viewer understand more without even seeing the video. Well done.I am Rorschach (talk) 23:48, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

LoveGame aka Disco Stick??

Why has it been 'unofficially renamed Disco Stick'? Do we have any references to back it up? I don't know if it's true or not, but I think someone should remove the "LOveGame AKA Disco Stick" tag above the picture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.30.184 (talk) 12:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Let's hope the microphone headset doesn't muffle her voice again like it did last year when she performed Just Dance on the show lol. So excited! • вяαdcяochat 04:52, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Um...that was not forum behaviour, the part about muffling the mic (which I do not rember, NZ gets it 5 days later by the way---disscusible also). However you shou;ld have said you are on the wrong talk page (rd to just dance) and a source is needed. So please it was not forum bahaviour. Thank you. Cloverfield, Legolas was correct. Music Video Charting

I think we should add something about it charting in Australia! The music video is charting at #29 on the digital track chart, the first music video to make it there! Must be due to the publicity and outburst on the video, I think we should add something about it as this is very special! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.216.234.34 (talk) 05:57, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Reliable sources please. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:02, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I find it odd that a music video charted on the digital track chart, but it's true according to ARIA.
Take a look at source: http://www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/charts_display_digital.asp?chart=1DT40
Is it really notable though? Perhaps it may be but i'm not entirely sure. You may want to raise this issue with other users to see what they think.
• вяαdcяochat 06:07, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm. The problem with the ARIA digital chart info is that its non-permanent. I think the digital charts are saved as pdf formats in Pandora website for ARIA. Can you find that? That will be a permanent link. Anyways this info wouldnot go into the charts, just a line in the music video section will be enough. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I checked Pandora. Take a look. They are behind a couple of weeks in listing the charts. April 20, 2009 is the most recent PDF hence they are a few weeks behind. I'll see if I can find some other sites permanently listing the video's peak. If I am unsuccessful, we will have to wait untill they publish a PDF link. • вяαdcяochat 06:38, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
OK Thanks for your help. Then we have to wait for Pandora to update themselves. Could you please keep an eye for me? We have to rely on Pandora since even Ultratop doesnot publish information regarding the digital sales etc. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Notability of alternate covers are not asserted by the reliable sources but rather by prose. If they are being discussed in the prose, in this case if it is discussed in "LoveGame" then only it is needed to be added otherwise fails WP:NFCC#3a. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:04, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned references in LoveGame

No. Pop Songs is the renamed Mainstram Top 40 chart, which is a component chart of Hot 100 Airplay, which is a component chart of Hot 100. Hence not notable. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:07, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Performance Picture

The picture of Lady GaGa performing with the cone bra ISN'T her performing LoveGame it's her performance of Eh, Eh. She always has the discostick and 3 back up dancers for the LoveGame performance, never the cone bra. 58.170.13.85 (talk) 02:29, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Dance pop

This song is obvious dance pop, not electro pop. Extremely simillar to Timbaland's "The Way I are" -- 217.21.43.222 (talk) 10:50, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Although the article states it is an uptempo dance-pop song with a dance-orientated beat, there is clear usage of synthesizers in the song, so therefore it is electropop-based. CharlieJS13 (CharlieJS13) 17:26, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Self-censorship

It should be somehow mentioned that the song deliberately omits certain words, probably considered too strong even by Gaga's standards, such as when it goes "I can see you staring there/from across the block/with a smile on your mouth/and your hand on your HOP!", where the "hop" obviously stands for "cock". There's other instances in the song where words are censored but I don't know for sure what they are meant to say. --uKER (talk) 15:32, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

I think that undue weight on the subject. She's not the first artist to think of such euphemisms. A8UDI 15:36, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
What is your point? Her not having invented the practice makes it somehow less true or not worth mentioning? --uKER (talk) 16:04, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
It's a common enough practice, that A8UDI feels, and I agree, that it's not worth mentioning. Taking it a step further, did she decide to omit the words, did her label convince her to make the change...? All we can say conclusively is that certain words are omitted. —C.Fred (talk) 21:33, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Since when does it being a common practice mean it doesn't deserve mention? Songs having a dance-oriented beat is also very common. So what? --uKER (talk) 23:35, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Point is, we don't need a line by line analysis of each and every word of the song and that's what makes it undue. Also, your comparison of dance-oriented beat being common and ommitting x-rated words from songs being common is pretty lame to bring up in this discussion. Those words didnot even receive that much of third party notability compared to the disco-stick hook which has been added to the article. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:06, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
And where has it been confirmed that HOP stands for cock, or that she engaged in self-censorship? It could mean anything really.. I don't see what is so notable about that line in the song. • вяαdcяochat 09:05, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

(indent reset) Legolas brings up a good point: "disco-stick" has been discussed in independent sources, and Gaga's been asked about it in interviews. The omitted word—which most lyrics sites transcribe as "(huh!)"—hasn't been shown to have any coverage. —C.Fred (talk) 15:56, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Beats per minute

Really minor point here, and not sure if this counts as original research...but the page (and reference) says the song is at 104 bpm when really it is 105. Try in any audio editor, you won't be able to get 104 to sync, but 105 will.
EDIT:Sorry, I really misspoke there. I know it is original research, I just meant that I assumed nothing could be done because the published sheet music said otherwise than what I found out?

Sp3z1aL (talk) 22:54, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

That is original research, since the published sheet music says 104. —C.Fred (talk) 23:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Requested move

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 23:51, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

LoveGameLoveGame (Lady Gaga song) – Or Love Game (Lady Gaga song) or Lovegame (Lady Gaga song)? MOS:TM may apply here, even when it is broad. (WP:SONGDAB is more applicable as recommended.) If GetItRight (Miley Cyrus song) has both stylized title and disambiguation, probably the same should go for the Lady Gaga song. There are other Love Game topics. The current title should redirect to the disambiguation page unless someone objects. George Ho (talk) 06:17, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

  • For what it's worth, I really hope the other discussion (that I closed, I believe) won't be considered some sort of precedent; at any rate, I hope that if there are such requests, that they can be evaluated by commenters on a case-by-case basis per specific evidence and merits. Dekimasuよ! 07:51, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose there is a space between "Love" and "Game" in the DAB page, no spacing on this article. Snuggums (talk / edits) 07:54, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose The focus of this RM is the dab, not the actual title itself. If the title of the song is deemed to be "LoveGame" (which is acceptable under MOS:TM) then no dab is needed. Adabow (talk) 07:56, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose If the difference was just in spacing or just in capitalization it might be another issue, but the combination of both makes the disambiguation pretty clear. But that's really not an issue anyway, since page view stats indicate that this is the WP:Primary topic among the other applicable pages anyway.--Yaksar (let's chat) 08:18, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • I can't get the stats page to load at the moment, but someone else can feel free to do so if they are able. But regardless, all this talk about whether disambiguation is clear enough doesn't even matter if the page in question is the primary topic.--Yaksar (let's chat) 08:42, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Weak support for similar reasons on which my suggestion of "GetItRight (Miley Cyrus song)" was based.
Love Game is a well populated disambiguation page and yet:
"LoveGame" "Lady Gaga" gets "About 1,690,000 results"
"Love Game" "Lady Gaga" gets "About 349,000 results"
see also: site:ladygaga.co.uk "Love Game" OR "LoveGame". WP:UCRN and WP:OFFICIAL supports the absence of a word space but I don't consider this absence to fairly meet requirements of disambiguation. If the removal of word spaces were to become an accepted route of disambiguation then this might become a motivation for artists to depart from established forms of grammar. We should report on art and not have influence over it. Gregkaye 08:23, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
edit above as per Richhoncho's sensible argument below. I hope admin will consider the relevance of arguments and perhaps take user history into account. Use those mystical admin powers to discern whether users may be genuinely interested in finding best title for Wikipedia or for other purposes. Editors may think that "Anything Goes" yet, in this environment, you cant just, "Do What U Want", not if you want general "Applause". Gregkaye 09:45, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Support - highly generic as the multiple entries in articles show. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:31, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose; there are zero other entries titles "LoveGame"; this specific spelling is the correct spelling of the work. We should not invent inaccurate titles to express our disapproval of the title choices made by artists, nor should we manufacture a nonexistent ambiguity where use of the correct title can serve to disambiguate. bd2412 T 19:30, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
Why not re-propose to scrap out "(Miley Cyrus song)" then? --George Ho (talk) 02:24, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
If the reason to move it is due to that song, this RM was not the next step, it was WP:RM/R. Basically, you are indirectly WP:POINTING. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:52, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
The WP:RM/R is most likely unhelpful. Reviews often result "endorsed", not "overturned". I bet the results would be the same as others. --George Ho (talk) 17:06, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose. As the only notable song that uses "LoveGame" as one word, disambiguation is completely unnecessary. There is a hatnote at the top pointing to the Love Game disambiguation page, where the article is also listed - these are more than sufficient. Strong oppose moving the article to "Love Game", "Lovegame", or any other variant per WP:COMMONNAME and the fact that CamelCase is not explicitly opposed by the MoS. –Chase (talk / contribs) 20:09, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Just adding a pile-on oppose. I'm in agreement with BD2412 and Chase on this. Gloss 21:08, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose. WP:MOSTM doesn't even apply. Also, MOSTM is a guideline, and WP:AT (being specific WP:COMMONAME) a policy. CamelCase titles are allowed, what is so hard to understand about that? © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 11:28, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Nothing hard; is CamelCase easy to remember for non-Lady Gaga fans? --George Ho (talk) 14:57, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Is your point that we should revert to an incorrect title to make it easier for people who don't know the correct one? Because that's going to lead us down an incredibly slippery slope where we change the titles of songs like "I'm a Slave 4 U", "Nothing Compares 2 U", etc. –Chase (talk / contribs) 17:17, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure how being easy to remember for non fans is possibly relevant. Will non NBA fans know that "Dwayne Wade" is actually spelled Dwyane Wade? Are people who are not big fans of Ralph Fiennes going to recognize that he is "Rafe Fines"? Are people who hear about "Wooster, MA" going to know it is the same as Worcester, Massachusetts? Maybe not. But I can't see that as a logical reason to move any title away from its correctly and commonly used name.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:29, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
@George. Your nomination begins with "MOS:TM may apply here", I explained the reasons why it is not true. I opened Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Trademarks#Requested move, and the oppose votes further explain why MOS:TM is being misused over again and again. "LoveGame" is not a registered/unregistered trademark "Lady GaGa" is. I don't understand why "non-Lady Gaga fans" would end up here, if Love Game is, now, a dab page. If your argument is SONGDBAB, use a SONGDAB argument instead of MOSTM. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:52, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Support. Yes, I can see how the !votes are stacking. The purpose of article titles is to help readers find the article they are looking for, not to create long-winded discussions where neither side is paying attention to the other side at RMs! However, if anybody thinks that punctuation or spelling is sufficient to disambiguate one article from another they are sadly mistaken. Editors may be confident of their language abilities, but that does not automatically extend to readers who will not automatically understand the subtle logic applied at some RMs. That means that that we should consider Love Game/Lovegame/Love Games/Lovegames as inherently the same title. Will there ever be a time when this song is NOT associated with LG, probably not, it might be sampled but unlikely to be significantly recorded by another artist, if this is the case, what harm in adding the artist's name? So applying WP:SONGDAB because there are other songs called Love Game is a good idea. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC is perfect for presidents and capitals of countries, but is not really applicable for something as transiently notable and idiomatic as pop culture. So, as done for the Miley Cyrus song - although I don't think a precedent was set - we need two article titles LoveGame (Lady Gaga song) and Love Game (Lady Gaga song) with one being a redirect to the other. --Richhoncho (talk) 09:59, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
