Suggested Additions to the List

edit

Taipan20 (talk) 13:13, 9 January 2011 (UTC)i was looking through the list and realised that one of the all time greatest third person shooter video games was not on the list. the game/s im referring to is lost planet and lost planet 2. they are hugely popular third person shooter video games and it hurts me to see them NOT included on the list. i am a wikipedia member and have no idea how to edit pages. i dont want to try either and violate any policies because i dont know how to. i would be greatly appreciate if someone who knows what their doing to add this information into this page. add lost planet and lost planet 2 by capcom onto the list. thanku (Taipan20 (talk) 13:13, 9 January 2011 (UTC)).Reply

You should summon up the courage to add these two games to the list. Click the "Edit" tab and study the layout of the list and individual entries in the list. Copy an existing entry to the correct place in the list (alphabetical order by the game's title) for Lost Planet. Then, edit the entry to specify the appropriate values for Lost Planet. Do the same for Lost Planet 2.
It's really simply. You will build your confidence for editing other Wikipedia pages. If you make a mistake, somebody else will simply correct it (and, if the correction is right :-) , you can learn from the correction).

Franchise

edit

I suggest deleting the "Franchise" column from the table for these reasons:

  1. Given the amount of space that the column consumes, the information value that it conveys is minimal
  2. Most games do not have and will never have a value in this column
  3. The franchise name is often found in the "Title" of the game

See the Wiki article "List of first-person shooters", which I have already reformatted with these changes:

  • If a game belongs to a franchise, I linked the game's title to any already-existing Wikipedia article about the franchise.
  • I added the "Legend" section and a new column "Platform(s)", which I initialized with information from any already-existing Wikipedia article about the game.

If there's no serious dissent, I will perform the same reformatting on this "List of third-person shooters" in a month. ProResearcher (talk) 07:47, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I can't find some games in this article

edit

I can't find some games in this article like Manhunt 2 and the Assassin's Creed series'.Ram nareshji (talk) 07:39, 8 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree, the list is definitely incomplete. You said Manhunt and Assassin's Creed, which are obvious third-person shooters. Another missing title is Grand Theft Auto. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most dominant third-person shooters in the twenty-first century. This list will undergo large changes. Oppose Hi @User:JCRules I think you are mixing up your terms. GTA and Assassin's Creed are NOT third person shooters: the game is played with a third person view. I'm guessing you already knew this, so I must clarify that just because a game includes third person shooting does not make it a third-person shooter. It's like saying because most pavolvas are served with fruit they are a kind of fruit cake. (Which they are most definitely not). I've removed both from the list but you're welcome to protest their removal.Neuroxic (talk) 08:55, 26 April 2014 (UTC) ::EDIT: (Thankfully) Assassin's Creed wasn't on the list (I wrote the comment before editing) but as aforementioned should not be included. Neuroxic (talk) 08:58, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

why on Earth is there a metacritic column?

edit

I cannot see any reasonable justification for the inclusion of the metacritic column. I feel it should be removed. Neuroxic (talk) 10:27, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not enough games

edit

I think there aren't enough games on this list. Where's Spec Ops: The Line?
