Talk:List of WordGirl episodes

May I have a word

edit

Should this really be its own section? From what I've seen, there are 2 segments per show (1 following each 15-min segment) and they are linked, as the second MIHAW usually refers to the initial one. I think perhaps we should simply mention these as columns intersparsed with the main episodes. Ranze (talk) 14:50, 15 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Upon further thought, since I think they air these tied to different episodes, it's probably good to keep them separate. I am wondering about the order though. Up until 2009 the air dates and episode numbering seem to conform. For some reason Petrified is listed as episode 19 (airing October 2009) while Hover and Tiff (20 and 21) aired June/July 2009. It doesn't make sense. Is it possible these should be 2010? It would fit that way since episode 22 is August 2010. Ranze (talk) 03:19, 12 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Season 3 order

edit

As I cleaned up the tables (splitting the code from the overall numbering) I noticed something odd about the chronological order. While 1/2/4 are consistent, in S3 after 67/315 the ordering goes haywire, with early episodes being delayed. The biggest example is 68/316 not airing until 2012. Anyone know why that is? Are we confident that this is the episode ordering when it conflicts with the order by date? Ranze (talk) 15:05, 15 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

By code or by date

edit

After making notices about the order on the seasons I am noticing a discrepency we should probably clear up by reaching a choice:

  • seasons 1-2 are in code order
  • season 3 is in chronological order
  • season 4 is in code number

One way we could do it is have split columns, 1 column listing the number by date, the other the order by DVD (as I assume this is the source of the numbers?). If we could have clickable column headings (many wrestling tables have this) people could choose which they want to sort by. Ranze (talk) 04:42, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The page has been fixed according to every other Episode List page in Wikipedia. If you want production codes added to show out of order episodes, add a column to the Season articles (Example) — Wyliepedia 09:50, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

So it's sorted by date now? Ranze (talk) 13:36, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Combined seasons?

edit

Anybody know what the deal is with the combined seasons 3/4 and 5/6? Why are we doing that and not listing them individually? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:54, 9 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think the problem is there's a lack of referencing going on about any sort of official season division at all. What is listed here as seasons 3-4 is "season 3" on its own page, and what's 5-6 here is listed as "season 4" on its own page, and "season 7" on this list is "season 5" on its own page.
I wonder if perhaps we should just ignore numbering and organize the seasons based on year of debut. The "2015 season" for all episodes that debuted now, for example. Ranze (talk) 23:01, 21 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Season 8

Should we be acknowledging the seasons on this basis? Or should some other source alleging fewer seasons take higher authority? Ranze (talk) 23:08, 21 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I would probably be inclined to conform the articles to the PBS kids intention, but 1) if other coherent arguments come from the community I would like to hear them. 2) If other references appear more reliable, I would yield to those as well. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:22, 22 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
There are significant issues with all the episodes. For example, in WordGirl (season 5), we see a number of episodes ("Guess Who's Coming to Thanksgiving Dinner" for example) that are not here or here. That ep looks like a Season 7 episode per here and here. I don't see the ep anywhere at TV.MSN.com. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:01, 22 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merger of List of WordGirl short episodes

edit

I think the shorts at List of WordGirl short episodes should be merged into here. – John M Wolfson (talkcontribs) 00:12, 17 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
