Scripting error edit

There is a technical error in the men's speed skating section. Can someone please repair it? Thank you.

I don't see an error, unless of course it has now been fixed. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 11:46, 11 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Multiple medalists edit

There should be a section at the end listing all athletes who have won more than one medal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.180.218.186 (talk) 14:59, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

"Women's" vs. "Ladies'" edit

Why does Wikipedia use "Women's", when the IOC uses "Ladies'"? Shouldn't we be following the IOC's convention(s)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.212.139.102 (talk) 08:37, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

No. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:44, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

At least I'm trying to contribute - what's your excuse? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.212.139.102 (talk) 19:06, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Look at my contribution history. You can see that I am contributing. Now step 1, learn to sign your comments... Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 07:56, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, it's pretty obvious that you're an *inconsistent* contributor at best, otherwise you wouldn't be here trolling me. And for the record, I *know* how to sign, I simply *choose* not to since it seems to drive folks like you up the wall. Cheers :P — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.212.139.102 (talk) 17:36, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, it doesn't drive me up the wall. Now go cry to the admin board instead of doing anything meaningful. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 19:12, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia follows it's own manual of style, and is not beholden to other conventions. If we're talking about an official title, that's another matter; if we're talking in general terms about an event, we go with our own style and conventions. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:39, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply. Just wondering though, if it's the IOC's official naming policy (or that of the respective sporting federations whose convention the IOC presumably follows), then why shouldn't that take precedence? Thanks again. 24.212.139.102 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 21:03, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Not even the official site uses "Ladies" consistently. "Women" and "Men" are widely used for general purposes, while "Ladies" and "Gentleman" typically carries a more formal connotation. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:18, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
