Economy

edit

All sources, even as primitive as guidebooks (Lonely Planet, Bradt) state that Kutaisi, though still Georgia's second largest city by number, lost it's place to Batumi ages ago. The main companies of soviet times are closed and the city is economically depressed far more then other Georgian cities (like Tbilisi, Batumi or Poti). This can be seen everywhere on the streets. And this was stated in Wikipedia, but got deleted. Only the ray of hope of a new investment by Egyptians was left. I know this article may be edited by some proud Kutaisians, but it is an encyclopedia and should tell the truth, it's nothing to be ashamed of, especially as the cities fortune is largely due to various outside powers. And anyone can use google to find pics of Kutaisi and will see the poor state of the city. So please return the Economy section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.205.167.63 (talk) 20:53, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sister City

edit

I can't find any evidence that there is a city called Monterey in France. Could Kutaisi's sister city of Monterey (added to the list by 217.147.224.170 on January 16) be some other Monterey (or Monterrey)? Can somebody clear this up? Whyaduck 06:04, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gelsenkirchen (Germany) denies, that Kutaisi is a sister city (http://www.gelsenkirchen.de/leben_in_ge/pressestelle/partnerstaedte.asp). I think it's better to change this. --134.76.135.216 (talk) 08:53, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:RC AIA.jpg

edit

Image:RC AIA.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Flag of Kutaisi

edit

I would be interested in learning more about the flag of Kutaisi depicted on this site. It looks like a close relative of the Georgian flag, which was itself adopted recently (2004). What is its history and connections to Kutaisi? GreenWillow1909 (talk) 13:03, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
