Talk:Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight

Trailer edit

Is it safe to link to it? I was under the impression that this trailer was meant for the licensing show, wouldn't this hurt the production? Yaguruma 18:52, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The trailer was uploaded to somewhere other than youtube to begin with, and it is a reference for the show itself. I'm not sure, exactly, but if the website for the production company had the trailer uploaded there, it would be better.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:28, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, we should not link to it. WP:EL says this - cannot link to sites that violate copyright. Uploading the trailer surely violates the copyright of whoever owns this new Kamen Rider franchise. We are not sure if this guy has permission or not - the user who uploaded it registered three days ago and is not a YouTube director. This is just some ordinary guy, and until he links himself up with the production company we have to assume htat he's not affiliated with them. Hbdragon88 23:08, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A promo aired yesterday, but im half awake so i don't know what channel it's on. Mostly likely itwas mtv/tnt/wgn.74.195.3.199 09:27, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cool. But I thought it suppose to be a kid-friendly series, just like Saban's Masked Rider, and made for Jetix. Otherwise, it'll be a TV-PG rated series for, I don't know, Sci Fi perhaps? Don-Don 06:52, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Episode count edit

I guess the press release image I linked to isn't a good enough source to confirm that the show will be 40 episodes? http://picsmcgee.com/displayimage.php?album=34&pos=27 Radda 22:14, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's best to wait for it in print.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. Radda 01:41, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:KamenRiderDragonNight.png edit

Image:KamenRiderDragonNight.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Kit edit

Who actually plays him? Imdb lists two different actors, although one has a hilariously misspelt name. In fact, how is there absolutely nothing about this show at all? The "reference" is a press-release, which is verbatim the content of one of the external links. The official site contains absolutely no information on this show at all, beyond contact info. The trailer on YouTube is just footage from Ryuki with terrible American actors editted in. Is there truly any proof whatsoever that this show is for real? I'd love to see something. Anything. Please. Howa0082 06:04, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Episode aired on line edit

The footage is sliced from the two Kamen Rider episodes, though a bit horrible editting at exposing the scene of later episodes. Fractyl (talk) 19:08, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

From what I'm seeing at RB and HJU, the "first episode" is the same pilot that everyone's been watching for months now. This is really nothing new. o_O Arrowned (talk) 19:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Would it be appropriate to put a link up in the external links to this old pilot? Especially once the series airs, it might serve well to illustrate the difference between the two versions of Dragon Knight. Howa0082 (talk) 19:44, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, as an addendum to my previous comment, could we perhaps have a "Differences between Ryuki and Original Pilot" section in the article, to be followed by a "Differences between Ryuki and Broadcast Pilot"? That might be an effective way of doing things. Howa0082 (talk) 19:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

That friggin' image... edit

If someone re-uploads it, can they possibly put in a valid license so it doesn't get canned again? Seriously, this is getting silly. Howa0082 (talk) 15:27, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Release/Airing Date edit

Changing it to 2009 as has been updated on the official website. DJ Kidna (talk) 04:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

They just can't seem to make a deal pull through, can they? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.10.65.50 (talk) 08:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think the problem is too many changes. Casting and writing changes have already occurred, which cause major setbacks. But at least you can tell they're trying DJ Kidna (talk) 03:33, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Potential Go edit

Well, they may have finally gotten a deal brokered, as is mentioned in a forum post at HenshinJustice. (Which precludes us from using it.) However, the post quotes another post from another website, and that other website couldn't even be bothered to spell names right. As well, I looked for something from 4Kids about it, couldn't find anything. Nor could I find anything from The CW itself. Perhaps all this is too new for there to be much available about it, but then the question arises; where did Cynopsis get the information? Until some reputable source arises, ideally Adness' site, I think it's wrong of us to add the "news" because hey, no reliable sources, amirite? Howa0082 (talk) 20:11, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Release Date Confirmed edit

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is gonna premiere on February 21, 2009 with a sneak peek on January 16 on the CW4Kids. I found it on this video from Stephen Lunsford's YouTube account.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKFbCJoy1Wo

So I think it should be added on this article. henshinagogobaby (talk) 12:26, 09 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBszxa8CWLs

Actually, it's just been confirmed by HJU that KRDK's release date has advanced to January 2009 with a sneak peek on December 13th on the CW4Kids. So don't change it to February 21st. Change it to January 2009. henshinagogobaby (talk) 23:08, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

A posting on HJU is not definitive.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:14, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but the main star of the show, Stephen Lunsford, who posted the previous video about KRDK airing Febuary 21st, also said that the release date was changed. He just added annotations on the video to fix it, so I guess it is confirmed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.44.232.65 (talk) 20:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, HJU is one of the most reliable sources of news related to Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. After all, they were the ones who posted the trailers and the pilot episode first on their site before they came to YouTube and Veoh. henshinagogobaby (talk) 20:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
If there's an interview on something other than HJU, then that information can be included in the article.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:31, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
HJU satisfies the fandom's requirement of reliability, but Wikipedia's usage of that word is something entirely different. "In general, the most reliable sources are peer-reviewed journals and books published in university presses; university-level textbooks; magazines, journals, and books published by respected publishing houses; and mainstream newspapers." HJU is a fan-run message board and blog. Arrowned (talk) 00:07, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=2526801&albumID=1734119&imageID=50670256 Proof that the show is getting a sneak peek on Dec. 13th. Thanks to Mr. Wang himself. henshinagogobaby (talk) 10:04, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
When there's a news article about it, it can get added to the article.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:29, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Links for Dragon Knight & Wing Knight edit

Why do Dragon Knight & Wing Knight link to the articles for Kamen Rider Ryuki & Kamen Rider Knight? --The Virginian (talk) 18:00, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, it was because that's who that represent in the US version. Though considered it a temporary until Dragon Knight airs. 97.96.119.175 (talk) 02:25, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Riders edit

I think we should start back up the character list as we're getting info on the riders that are appearing.

Fractyl (talk) 03:11, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

When the show airs. And there is not going to be any linking to the Ryuki pages like that.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:12, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
But we've already got the main characters revealed already, plus, we do get glimspes of the other riders(though I expect a separate profile on Conners at this time). Fractyl (talk) 06:39, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not sourceable.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 07:54, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
The official websites do have info on Dragon Knight, Wing Knight, and Incisor now. True they don't have as in depth info as in Ryuki (stats and ap of cards), but I think there's enough there to start up separate character articles. DJ Kidna (talk) 14:33, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Contract Monsters edit

per here they are named like this or shall we wait for the monsters to appear? --Numyht (talk) 21:38, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

If we have all of the names like that, then we should use them.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:31, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Xaviax vs General Xaviax edit

Need another opinion on this, the 4kids site links both names, which one is right? --Numyht (talk) 10:51, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The name is "Xaviax" but his title is "General".—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:33, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Broadcast Picture Format edit

This article mentions that Dragon Knight is broadcast both in 480i standard definition and 720p high definition. However, I am certain that all CW4Kids shows are only broadcast in standard definition. Furthermore, The CW broadcasts their primetime shows at 1080i high definition, making it less likely that Dragon Knight is broadcast at 720p. It's a minor issue, but one that I think should be taken into account regardless.

I'll leave it as it is for now, but if nobody objects, I'll be changing it accordingly in a few days. Thanks. Lex 21 (talk) 20:55, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

The show is made in 720p HD but it is only broadcast 480i SD. Powergate92Talk 21:22, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I see. In that case, that's fine. I always thought "picture format" meant the resolution that the show was actually broadcast in. Lex 21 (talk) 03:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ms. Mowry/Colette De la Croix edit

Would it be possible to remove Colette De la Croix from the Cast section of the article, or at least credit her as being Ms. Mowry/Kit's foster mom from the pilot episode? She hasn't appeared in the TV show thus far and, considering that Kathleen Gati played Kit's foster mother in the first episode, wouldn't that merit a change? (KrimzonKaiser (talk) 02:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC))Reply

Why not do it yourself instead of request it? Be bold.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Video game adaptation edit

There's a Dragon Knight video game coming out in November for the Wii and Nintendo DS from D3Publisher, as stated on their official website: [2] Gamefly also has them available for pre-order: [3] [4] Now I wanted to ask a question about this. Should this be made as a separate article or a section of this article? henshinagogobaby (talk) 13:07, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

For the time being, that should go here. Once the game comes out, we can consider moving it depending on how in-depth we decide to go with it. Arrowned (talk) 23:20, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Televisa Schedules Debut Date for Kamen Rider edit

[5] "Televisa, the Mexican multimedia conglomerate and the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world has set August 17, 2009 for the premiere date of the Adness Entertainment-produced live action series, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Televisa, which licensed the series in 2008, will air the series Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30-4:00PM on Mexico’s # 1 kids’ network Channel 5."

And that's not all.

"The broadcast line-up for Kamen Rider Dragon Knight already includes The CW4Kids in the United States, MediaSet in Italy, Venevision in Venezuela, Caracol in Colombia, and TV Globo in Brazil where the series just made its June 29 premiere during the Monday-Saturday TV Globinho morning block." henshinagogobaby (talk) 13:11, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Plot needs to be updated edit

Now that Adam has returned to being Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, the Ventaran Kamen Riders Torque, Strike, and Axe are returning and Kit is going become Kamen Rider Onyx, I think the Plot needs to be updated. Powergate92Talk 23:22, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is what the episode list and character biographies are for. The "plot" section on this article is only to serve as introductory material and not covering the ENTIRETY of the events in the series.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:49, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
MOS:TV says "For articles on the main work this section should be brief, only discussing the important plot elements for each season (though, if the article is becoming long it may be best to trim it to over-arching plots for the entire series) that steered the course of characters lives, or the course of the show." Adam returning to being Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, the Ventaran Kamen Riders Torque, Strike, and Axe returning and Kit becoming Kamen Rider Onyx, are "important plot elements" and "the course of characters lives, or the course of the show." Powergate92Talk 03:14, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Eubulon the Advent Master returning is also a "important plot element" so that should also be added to the plot. Powergate92Talk 03:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
If you do not watch the show enough to make these changes yourself, why the hell do you care about the content of this article?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:42, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I watch this show enough, I'm just that good at rewriting a plot to make it up to date. Also stop removing the update tag, the plot needs to be updated. Powergate92Talk 03:57, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
There's no need to put a template there.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:27, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Typo, that should say I'm just not that good at rewriting a plot to make it up to date. Powergate92Talk 20:29, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes there is, the template is there so someone will update the plot as it doe's say "This section may need to be updated. Please update this section to reflect recent events or newly available information, and remove this template when finished. Please see the talk page for more information." Adam returning to being Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and Eubulon the Advent Master returning are recent events and the Ventaran Kamen Riders Torque, Strike, and Axe are returning and Kit is going become Kamen Rider Onyx are newly available information. Powergate92Talk 05:23, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Write it yourself then instead of asking other people to do it for you.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:15, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I updated it but it may need some rewriting, again I'm just not that good at rewriting a plot to make it up to date. Also it's a plot not a premise. Powergate92Talk 20:29, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

None of the sources say Eubulon will brings back Kit, the source only says "Kit returns from the Void, fighting as Onyx" Saying Eubulon will brings him back is original research. Powergate92Talk 23:44, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do you understand that I only changed it to make the flow better? Stop being so ridiculously strict with these policies and guidelines.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:54, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Super Hero Time USA 2009 edit

Does Power Rangers RPM look like A ABC Drama tv show, Because this has a lot of drama and a lot of NZ Fights and stunts. But did it air alongside Kamen Rider Dragon Knight? Because 2009 was a Super Hero Time in America when Power Rangers & Kamen Rider came together on the USA Kamen Rider Dragon Knight: Los Angeles, California & Tokyo, Japan. Power Rangers RPM: Auckland, New Zealand & Tokyo, Japan. Was this the Super Hero Time of 2009 in America?
