Lost her voice?

edit

"In 2016, Volkova talked for the first time about her disease, revealing that in 2012 she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. During a complex surgery to remove the tumour, her laryngeal nerve was damaged, so Julia lost her voice forever." is unsourced and seems sort of sketchy. If she totally and permanently lost her voice, how would she be giving interviews or performing after that point? I did a quick search on YouTube and Google, and there appear to be interviews and performances after that point. Now, granted, these could be old recycled stuff from before 2012, but it definitely needs to be investigated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimindc (talkcontribs) 15:01, 6 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Requested move

edit

I think the page should be moved to one of the above, my reasoning is, why is there a need to include her middle name, and possibly, would it not be better to list it under here English name. - Gerbon689 15:35, 5 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

This requested move has been listed on WP:RM since 5 September. It would appear that no one else has an opinion about where the article should go. Do you have a preference between the two options above, or should we just leave it where it is? –Hajor 03:57, 14 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Over here in the States, her first name is most often transliterated as "Julia" or even "Yulia". I have no preference between the two spellings above as long as a redirect gets made to the other. --Kyle Davis 05:25, 15 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
If it's most common, and the article agrees it is usual, we should do it. Septentrionalis 23:46, 15 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Please note that Russian patronymics are not just "middle names". They're a lot more important than most English middle names. But I agree that there's no point in having it in the article title.

Move decision

edit

Oh goody! One where I actually get to decide :) - well, considering I've usually heard her called Julia and the fact that the article refers to her that way I moved it there and fixed the double redirects. Take care! Ryan Norton T | @ | C 07:47, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Relationships

edit

Is it really neccesary to keep information here about all her relationships? She split up with Tigran a year ago, it seems pretty pointless to still have it in her article. The Proletarian 00:04, 7 January 2007 (GMT)

Improper cut and paste move

edit

This is an orphan left behind because of an improper cut and paste move. There is no article at Julia Volkova now; it is a redirect as a result of that improper move. See additional discussion at Talk:Yulia Volkova, a distinct talk page. Gene Nygaard (talk) 17:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Julia vs Yulia

edit

Julia isn't a stage name - it's just a different latinisation of the Russian Юля; it's the same name as Yulia. cwmacdougall 22:55, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Yulia is the correct pronunciation in English language, with Julia additional info is needed. Julia in English, as in Julia Roberts, is pronounced differently. And there is no pronunciation info for her name. In Finnish (+Estonian) and Swedish, it is spelled correctly with the J, don't know about other languages. 82.141.64.209 (talk) 19:24, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Eralash

edit

Someone should mention the Eralash television program Julia was on as a child. The singer from Glukoza was also on it. It would be like informing people that Britney Spears was a Disney actress. 69.159.38.175 (talk) 19:49, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
