It happens

edit

Every once in a while, as a Wikipedia editor, you just step in a pile of dog shit, and then you've got shit on your shoe for a while. It happens to the best of us (or so I've heard -- I wouldn't know). It isn't great, but it will pass :) jp×g🗯️ 18:28, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Saying thanks

edit
  The Original Barnstar
After your feedback last summer about my overly complex solution to a vintage map in another language, I created a translated svg version of the map. I've since seen the translated map pop up in a few YouTube videos, an article, and some online posts. It also spurred me to add my first text to Wikisource. It's unlikely that either resource would be on the web right now minus your input, Rjjiii (talk) 02:55, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the award, @Rjjiii! Glad to have been of assistance, even if only through inspiration. Always heartwarming to hear about our hard work as Wikipedians being appreciate through re-use.
Keep up the good work! Peter Isotalo 07:02, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ten years ago, you were found precious. That's what you are, always. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:14, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

July 2024

edit

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Late modern period. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. – Joe (talk) 10:34, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

The discussion has been taking place at talk:late modern period already. No one's bothering to note that apparently.
Revert all you want, but as an AfD goes, it's rubbish. Peter Isotalo 10:36, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Knock off the personal attacks

edit

You've been around long enough to know about civil behaviour. Your attack on User:Joe Roe is inexcusable. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Late modern period. Doug Weller talk 13:12, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

So you think Joe's comment was perfectly innocuous, huh? Peter Isotalo 13:16, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Aspersions at WikiProject talkpages

edit

Hi Peter. I'll be honest, I was quite shocked to find that you saw fit to escalate a previously-cordial discussion into a series of complaints at various WikiProject talk pages. I consider the language within to be obvious WP:ASPERSIONS against myself and another editors: an egregious breach of the civility policy. If you do not strike the statements, I will not hesitate to escalate the matter. I hope that is clear to you. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 14:52, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

My intentions have been to bring attention to what I consider a serious systemic issue that is being ignored . If I thought it was about specific individuals, I would be naming those individuals. My intention was to bring in more opinions and to highlight the problems.
If you escalate this issue to ANI, I'd say you'll be the one naming individuals, including yourself. Not sure that's going to get you anywhere other than try to make me shut up. Peter Isotalo 15:16, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry to say that I feel similar about Peter's recent behavior. Phlsph7 (talk) 15:34, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Then feel free to escalate. Peter Isotalo 15:36, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
