editGary Lewis links to Gary Lewis and the Playboys -- with no indication there that this are the same man.—Copey
Soldier nationality
editThe soldiers were not Scottish, they are British. Scotland has not existed as a sovereign nation since 1707 when it became part of the Kingdom of Great Britian, the soldiers were all from Britain but that soldiers particular nationality within Britain was Scottish. - Those soldiers WERE Scottish; they were all from Scotland. Yes, they're ALSO British. But it's not incorrect to say that they're Scottish. I'm from Virginia, and Virginia isn't a sovereign nation (although it should be). Is it therefore incorrect to say that I'm a Virginian?
Gordon's nationality has been reverted back to Scots without explanation. I'm reverting this edit. I agree with BritBoy that the correct nationality is British, of which Scotland is part. No-one seems to be suggesting that the German and French officers should be described as Prussian or Breton (for example). Yorkist (talk) 09:46, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
And the Germans were Prussians from the 93rd Infantry Regiment. If British soldiers are to be called Scottish, then the Germans should be called Prussian.101.98.175.68 (talk) 04:57, 20 April 2014 (UTC) The British Army refer to soldiers in the Scottish regiments as Scottish.[1] Terry Patterson (talk) 09:56, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Pulitzer Prize
editThis movie inspired a stage opera that won the Pulitzer prize. It seems worth mentioning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.149.165.253 (talk) 01:37, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
