Jawar Mohammed is the icon of the oromo people. I suggest you may wait till he get verdicted, to rule whether he killed all these people or not. you may treat him like a suspect but never use the word criminal.

Completely false about Jawar Mohammed with an unreliable source. He himself is alive. Why you don't ask him about his life and write? 196.191.127.176 (talk) 14:20, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

"media owners who don’t have Ethiopian passports" edit

Can someone clarify this statement? If Mohammed, who was born in Ethiopia, doesn't have Ethiopian citizenship or an Ethiopian passport, what nationality does he hold? --Jfruh (talk) 22:03, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

He has USA citizenship. I would compile and write about his citizenship just wait. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dotohelp (talkcontribs) 11:39, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Mr Jawar has taken a USA citizenship after the Ethiopian Embassy refused to renew his passport. In the past two year he was living and working in Ethiopia and most recently has now denounced his USA citizenship and reclaimed by default his Ethiopian citizenship after fulfilling all the requirements as per the law of the country. Unreliable statement made in the activisim tab edit

“The reports sparked nationwide clashes by the Qeerroo, leaving at least 67 people dead, including five police officers.[21][22]”

The sources listed never mention Qeerroo playing a part in any of those October clashes that happened throughout Oromia. This rumour has been spread throughout social media but was never verified by public officials. To this date the assailants who played a part in these clashes are unknown. There is not one article that mentions Qeerroo or Amhara being involved with these clashes. Although claims have been made Burdensomewolf (talk) 02:11, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Controversy edit

Glad user:Hydromania able to figure it's opinion that Ginbot 7 perpetrated the conflict. I know that is what we(Oromo) claim. And it is different how Amhara claim. This came since Oromo and Amhara are now rival. Sodaretube.com and kichu.com are Amhara and Oromo website and clearly not neutral. Plus NPR my be influenced by Oromo or Amhara and we cant just it is perfect. So I just removed. Why dont you edit rather than undoing? It may help me see the problem. Or you can write here your point. If not for my moral, do you know I can put BBC afaan Oromoo as evidance and you got nothing to prove or disprove. Cause u dont know Oromo and internet would not help. lol! Kidding!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dotohelp (talkcontribs) 08:15, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Aside for your admission that this is bit controversial subject and that the source you added wasn't neutral, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I am sure that you are either not understanding or choosing to ignore what I am saying. If needed I can list the issues with your repeated addition, but first just two general points 1) You need to write neutrally and you can't just delete the NPR source. 2) Proper grammar and spelling would help get your point across. Now I understand English isn't your first language which is of course totally fine, but then maybe you should bring up edits on the talk page first, and you should definitely not keep reinserting an edit (which was actually originally added by a different editor) which has these issues. Thanks for coming to the talk page. Hydromania (talk) 07:13, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hydromania: Oh! I did not know that guy removed the content with NPR source(confused! that I thought u said I remeved). Sorry I put it back. And it is a compliment that it took you this whole time to understand English is not my first language. I thought u would figure in a second! So my English is somewhat understandable, I guess. And I have modified(extensively Oromoo lang) and nobody said or corrected the grammer error. So I can write even if it takes long time for me. And when I have difficulty I may consider your opinion! Bye! I almost forgot, I have to be neutral. That is why I was in wikipedia to make the article tell both sides. Almost all written about Oromo have Amhara flavor(Or I think so). I assure that I would try to add all flavors! Dotohelp (talk) 18:48, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hydromania: Some also say it is easing politcal space meaning Oromo Libration font are the one behind. While NPR suggest it is Jawar, Newyork times suggest it is Oromo libration font. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/24/world/africa/ethiopia-ethnic-violence-arrests.html

Jawar Mohammed is an intelligent, smart, educated and human right activist who become a symbol of oromo youth resistance and recently become a politician after the failed assassination plot staged against him by individuals and groups inspired by the Derge regime. Many of his opponents didn't buy the story about his assassination plot.

Jawar is well know for his 'I am Oromo first' slogan among Oromos but unpopular among Amharas that want to still promote Amarization in Ethiopia. He advocates unity in diversity and self administration at a local government level by building true federal democratic system in Ethiopia. His clear stance on Oromo issues and federalism make Jawar one of the most famous and influential person in the Ethiopian politics with more than a million follower in his Facebook page. Many of his supporters consider him as a prime minister in waiting. While those people who stuck in the past and unable to dissociate themselves from the past regimes Amharization policy are struggling to accept Jawar as part of the solution for the crisis the country is facing at the moment due to lack of democratic dispensation, true federalism and good governance. Ungrammatical, disrupted paragraph at Activism section edit

The Activism section embroiled with vagueness, distorted writing, and some repetitions since at the beginning, such as "the largest ethnic group in Ethiopia", and hyperboles. It needs to fix all the issues, or otherwise I will tag {{grammar}} at the top of section in order to raise awareness for readers. The Supermind (talk) 16:44, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
