Titles

Thriller is the official name for Car Crash Hearts and The Take Over The Breaks over has also been confirmed along with Arms Race, Carpal Tunnel, Thriller and Basically the whole album is confirmed already and all the titles are final and the title of Satisfaction I believe has been changed to another title. So basically the track listing that was up yesterday was the correct tracklisting.

Where are all these song titles coming from? As far as I know, only Arms Race, Carpal Tunnel, and Its Hard... have been confirmed (125.236.142.80 01:38, 28 December 2006 (UTC))

If you go to AOL's music section and go to AOL Sessions, FOB plays two new songs from the album, one of them actually being "Thriller", so you can guess that it's the official title instead of "Car Crash Hearts". -- Faded 10:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

How long is this going to be edit protected?

Hasn't it been over a week. Oh well whoever is in charge add a February 7th release date for Japan and will contain two bonus tracks "G.I.N.A.S.F.S." and "It's Hard to Say "I Do" When I Don't". Guitar Solos

On personnel, it says the Panic and NFG guitarists did guest solos on "You're Crashing, But You're No Wave", but there aren't really any proper solos on that track. In fact, the only real solos on the record are on "The Take Over, The Break's Over", which has two different-sounding solos. Could this be the track with the guest guitarists instead? Information in the Notes

Thriller had a working title of Car Crash Hearts was told on TRL one day while they showed This Ain't A Scene, It's an Arms Race, but there isn't any way to prove this, because it was on a live show that repeats once, and the little blurbs aren't written anywhere from a good source. The performances of Thriller, The Take Over, The Breaks Over, and This Ain't A Scene It's An Arms Race I *think* are somewhere on the TRL site, but i can't open that because of all the flash things it needs, so someone else will have to do it. Best buy downloads

If you buy the cd at best buy, which i did, there is a little paper on the inside saying that if you go to http://www.falloutboy.islandrecords.com/bestbuy you can dowload FINASFS and a remix of TAAS,IAAR, but for some reason it says the page cannot be displayed. Does anyone know why? Good point! I recall them saying something about that in an interview somewhere. I have a seperate lyrics querie... Some music pages have lyrics on them, which i find a little confusing - is it because not many people who contribute know the lyrics to certain songs, or they do but don't bother, or is it just something not really added here? With certain rules applicable to one article and not the other, I'm not sure whether to add lyrics to the singles in IOH out so far. Platinum Edition Name Changes?

There are a few little differences in track names on the Australian platinum edition of infinity...a few subtle ones such as the quotation marks being dropped from "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" and .4 being called "I'm Like A Lawyer With All The Ways I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)" (Attention to the "All the Ways" and the "&" instead of the "+"). The list also drops the "All" from "I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers". Hope that made more sense than It did when I reread it... Kokiri kid 03:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Release and Reception

We need to add a section that talks about critical reviews and it's Metascore. It's vital for any good Wikipedia article (I've seen very detailed analysis on Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" album page. This is Fall Out Boy's album with the best reviews, I'm sure someone can find good statements to use! Good luck! This article really needs it.

I am working on rewriting this page, and hopefully getting it to good article status. There seems to be a lot of random unsourced trivia which I have removed, although it is still in the page's history for future. Any help with improving the article would be greatly appreciated! Wow, your rewriting of the page has done the page, and band proud! Excellent work, you're Awesome!!! I'd tried fixing things around without much success a few weeks ago. I have recommendations for the article that would improve it to Good Article status, some important and some for novelty.

• Track listing. We need to add in the Australian/New Zealand "Platinum" Edition with bonus songs and a bonus DVD. The other album's release versions' listings are in the page's history. The bonus track "G.I.N.A.S.F.S" is included for some countries, I'm definite the UK, Australia and New Zealand get this bonus. Japan gets "G.I.N.A.S.F.S" as well as "It's Hard to Say "I Do", When I Don't". The main infobox also has the release dates (although unsourced) for these other album versions, so it needs to be included in the track listing and prose. Necessary
• A "Versions" section should be added to discuss the different versions released. There's the normal one; I'm not sure if there was a DigiPak without any extra tracks; the Walmart (and maybe other stores) edition with an altered cover art and and bonus song; international versions eg Australia, New Zealand and the UK having a bonus song, and a DigiPak version with bonus songs (only in USA I think), and an Australian/New Zealand "Platinum" Edition with many bonus songs and a DVD. Good to have
• The track listing titles are slightly different on the Australian/New Zealand "Platinum" Edition, such as ""The Take Over, The Breaks Over"" written without quotation marks and "I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) written as "I'm Like a Lawyer with All the Ways I'm Trying to Get You Off (Me + You)". "...Arms Race" doesn't have a apostrophe for "aint", same for the live track listing, but its "ain't" for the DVD listing and ""The Take Over, The Breaks Over"", but the quotation marks are missing in the AOL session track listing (of the DVD). "Sugar, We're Goin Down" is written as "Sugar We're Going Down" with an extra "g" as the track listing for the AOL session. This sounds a bit confusing but it's easier if you have the CD to read off. Source: I have the "Platinum" edition CD.
• I think Metacritic's score of 75/100 needs be added to the "Critical Reception" section. Also, I think it may be good if the section itself is expanded. I would challenge the inclusion of "Sputnikmusic" as I do not think it is a proper source, unlike RollingStone, for instance. DONE However, still unsure about the " Dave de Silva of Sputnikmusic agreed about Stump's new vocal style, saying that "his tone is smoother and more well-rounded, he’s cut out the borderline screechy high-end which made parts of the previous album unlistenable" in the article. I'm not sure if they're a proper citic and they called From Under the Cork Tree "unlistenable"...
• The "Charts, certifications and procession" section of the page need to be revised for countries worldwide; I would guess that the album has more certifications then what is currently listed on the page. I hope we didn't miss any. It's in the gold Japan albums category, but there's nothing about that on the page.

The "Charts" part needs to be expanded, the album charted worldwide but the page only lists 4 countries. (Done?) Year-end charts would also be very nice.

• Sales totals of the album for the United-States and worldwide figures (latest sources would be nice) would definately be informative for the article; maybe for the singles too if that information can be found (I'm not talking the certification here, I mean the actual sales totals).
• A "Chart Performance" section should be created that deals with (obviously) the album's charting. I have sources for sales figures for the first 6 weeks that the album was in the top 10, that's all I can find (Billboard.biz articles). ***I'll add to this in due course and hopefully expand the section in a few weeks***
• A "Singles" section should be created for the album's four singles that deals with release date, etc. For reference, "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" is not an actual single, but was rather a song released online by the band for fans to download (Patrick Stump told me on Twitter and besides, the song was not actually properly released; leaked online and later put on iTunes). Should a song sample of a single be added?Done
• Accolades
• The "Release history" section needs to be expanded - currently it only has release dates for Japan, the UK and the US.
• Mention of the "Leaked in London" EP as the band's strategy to encourage fans to buy the album after its leak. It was obtainable by inserting a physical copy of Infinity on High into the computer and something with the website. DONE
• Alternate album art description in main infobox and check if there's anything missing in the infobox.
• In the "Composition" section: Contrast the sound to Take This to Your Grave and From Under the Cork Tree; Fall Out Boy elements still there. ***Might be nice***
• "Promotion". This section critically requires expanding. Information about the lead up to the album, TV performances as well as headlining tours should go here. Could have more TV performances/appearances. Mostly done'
• A more comprehensive "Personnel" section with information from the album's booklet. Also, stuff about Wesley Eisold?
• Does the lead introduction need to be revised? Looks good
• Song trivia that was removed was interesting/informative/useful, maybe recover them and weave them into the page somehow? *The "Now press repeat" and clapping at the end of the last track on the CD. Also, mention some lyrics being "stolen" from Wesley Eisold?
• Does anyone know the themes and inspirations of the album? I'm not sure of them myself, but if someone managed to find enough information about it, maybe a "Themes and inspirations" section could be created? Problem with this is that only Pete Wentz knows his lyrics' true meaning. Reporters could say it's about the band's rise of fame but it's likely something completely different.
• A picture of the band live in concert. Good
• Lots of print sources available in Fall Out Boy's discussion page that can be used to add information or can be used to cite sources.
• Proper source citation in accordance to Wikipedia's standards. Looks good

Hey! Wow, thank you so much for noticing! I really like this album and I think it deserves a good article. Thank you for your suggestions, there are a lot of sources out there on the album that we can use. So far, I have just been trying to restructure the article and make new sections, so some of them need a lot of expansion, like the promotion section as you noted. Unfortunately there are some dead links in the article, and Rolling Stone has removed a lot of their articles from their online database that had really good information. Also, the only source I could find for the Wesley Eisold plagiarism issue was posted by an anonymous source on Absolutepunk.org, and I definitely do not think it is reliable, but I will keep looking. Some of the trivia may be difficult to find sources for, but I will try my best as I agree that they would be great additions to the article. The article is infinity on high times better than what it was a month ago, which was just an intro, a track listing and trivia. Now it's excellent! I got a lot of ideas on "sections" of an article from other well written album articles, and maybe they could be used as a template? Also, where did you find all those informative sources? I've been looking on the internet before but I have not found many good ones like you did. Maybe when we get this article done we should work on the other FOB albums too! Hey! Sorry I was gone so long, I have been really busy for the past couple weeks. I am not exactly sure how I found them, but MTV.com has a ton of news stories that are really informative, and you can also search "Articles about Infinity on High" on newspaper websites like the New York Times and stuff like that. I have been trying to look for more recent photos of the group, but it is quite difficult to find pictures with suitable licenses. Also, I am thinking that the article is pretty close to being ready to be nominated for a GA, but there are a few things I am unsure what to do about. Charts are not my strong suit, and there seem to be a lot of random charts towards the end of the article, and some of them need sources. I am a bit afraid to approach them because I am worried that if I type one thing wrong, it will mess up the format. I also need to find more stuff for the "Accolades" section. Hello, don't be sorry, you made the page awesome!!! It used to be pretty much an intro, track listing and trivia before you came. I don't know many newspaper websites at all since I'm in Australia. In my suggestions above I highlighted some things that I think would be important to the article, such as the track listing for different versions and sales totals. I've had experience in writing the charts, I can copy the template from other well written pages, namely Taylor Swift's Fearless and Speak Now (awesome CDs) and Michael Jackson's Thriller. Using that idea, you could maybe look at other good/featured articles to see what they have that this doesn't. I discovered that Fall Out Boy doesn't actually have a lead guitarist, but Patrick Stump and Joe Trohman have always been sharing lead and rhythm guitar - Twitter Direct Message from Patrick Stump - which is a massive misconception! There's pre available chart formatting on WP Help pages. I added to the lead introduction with ideas from MJ's Thriller album. Hey, I am thinking that I will just delete a few of the charts as they are not in any featured/good articles, such as Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Rock Steady, which I have been using as models. I have been kind of busy with summer classes, but I will continue to work on this article. Also, the Accolades section is too short and I think I will remove it until I can find enough sources. • I am tempted to quick-fail, but since you've waited so long, I'll give you week to make the required changes. The "Citation tags" are unacceptable; you need to source everything. Several sections have poor grammar, and are just plain disorganized. Additionally, several need expansion. The second image fails NFCC, as there is no rational for its inclusion (I'll be removing that myself). Also, sections like "Accolades" is a bit ridiculous. Half a sentence for a section? I'd rate you at about a 60% to GA, so you have a lot of work. You have one week. Good luck. • Sure, I'll be more specific.
• Per the article's length, the lead should really be longer. It only summarizes its critical and chart success, and nothing about its music or direction. I think a middle paragraph is necessary, discussing maybe the promotion they did for the album, as well as its music and lyrics and/or inspiration.

• Next, the alternative cover serves no extra purpose. From what I'm aware, it doesn't really have significant mention in the article, so there is no sufficient rational. Disorganization; the photo by the background in messily placed. Try and format it, and move it around (especially after the alt covers removal).

• Now, several unreliable and poorly formatted references. Again, look at Mimi for that, I'll give you some examples. #6 should not be in italics, as it is an online source (and you're missing the publisher). Why are 10 ad 11 different if they are the same website? Honestly, issues in every source. What makes 13 and 17 reliable?

Also, I have been comparing the sources on this page to the ones on The Emancipation of Mimi and I am having a bit of a hard time seeing the differences on a lot of them. I'm very impressed with your descriptions for the samples. Well done. Now we'll continue:

• You mention several different release dates in the infobox, yet don't see anything regarding this in the actual body. Even if you place it, no need to stack all that info there. Simply link us to a "release history" chart. Post the first date it was released, and then
  (see release history)
• Now, as for the references. Look at Mimi and Control+F and search for the sources there. You will see the differences. Compare #s 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 25, 26. Know that published newspapers need to use "Cite news" not "Cite web. It makes the publisher appear in parenthesis. Also, the charting sources need changing too, as well as the fact that several references towards the end are missing accessdates
• The commercial reception section needs expanding. From that, you should have two decent sections. A "Commercial performance" and "Singles" section. List other certifications and chart positions for other countries aside from the US in the prose. Also, you will need to expand the singles part as well

So. The article is coming along nicely. This is what I would say still needs to be done before a pass. You need to source the "Singles" section, and remove non-neutral words like "success" etc. Also, the commercial section could still use a little boost in terms of format. List the certification agencies when discussing Platinum and Gold certifications; (RIAA), (BPI) (but spell them out, look at Mimi). Once again, they look better, but look through each ref, and compare them to Mimi and fix them; examples are the usage of "Cite News" and "Cite Web" (I explained the differences on the talk page of User: Jivesh boodhun, take a look. Also, some works and publishers need fixing. Lastly, read through the article (after the above things have been addressed) and thoroughly read it and copy0edit it to the best of your ability. For the Australian and New Zealand Platinum Edition, the track listing names are slightly different to the original release and I have no idea why this is, although in the lyric booklet the titles are the original ones. I wrote about the differences on the discussion page a while ago. Source: I have the Platinum edition. As for international bonus tracks, "GINASFS" might have been released in other countries besides just the UK and Australia, namely New Zealand. Japan bonus track is "GINASFS" as well as "It's Hard to Say "I Do," When I Don't." (http://hmv.co.jp/product/detail/3520233) The US Deluxe Edition was in Digipak format, I'm not sure if it was also available as standard edition Digipak. On eBay I've seen a UK version Digipak...lots of different versions it's confusing. Also, on the discussion page there is more about the bonuses. I've noticed that Infinity on High just reached Good Article status, that's so awesome! I'd like to especially thank Basilisk4u for all her hard work in writing most the page and making it as it is now, it wouldn't be there without you; you would do the Fall Out Boy members proud too haha. The page is amazing as is the album. I'd also like extend my appreciation to Petergriffin9901 for reviewing and providing lots of guidance on getting the page to GA. Maybe might collaborate again when you review other pages or even Infinity to Feature Article. I'm still be interested in further improving it, there's still more work that could be done. • When did Fall Out Boy announce first single "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race"? Was it before or after their AMA performance? Could be noted when the band first debuted the song title and also when the album's cover art was released.
• The album was originally scheduled (tentatively?) for a December 2006 release but was delayed a bit. Worth mentioning this history?
• Coverage of their other tours (I know they played at arenas in Australia for the first time) and TV+festivals appearances.
• Tracklisting for all the other versions. I found a source for the Bestbuy and Walmart bonus tracks.
• Points I wrote months ago here.
