"first win against a major nation" edit

Iceland won Spain in 1991 http://timarit.is/view_page_init.jsp?pageId=1751201 . Would that not to be considered as a win against a major nation?

Matches against the Faroes before 1988 edit

I've noticed, that the Iceland played its first international match in 1930 against the Faroes and that its biggest win against the Faroes in 1985. However, the Faroe Islands weren't made members of UEFA until 1988, so these results are AFAIK unofficial. This should probably be corrected. Mulder1982 (talk) 18:51, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alleged 12-0 Norway match edit

RSSF and Icelandic newspapers from 1946 state that Norway weren't playing Iceland in Bergen 28 June 1946 when they won 12-0. They were playing Finland. In addition that alleged loss happened before Iceland's first international game. If anyone still thinks that loss should be displayed in this page, reevaluate your opinion. finval (talk) 16:11, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tracked the change down. Seems a disgruntled Finn wasn't happy, and changed the article on the Norwegian team so the losing team wasn't Finland, but Iceland, and no one has questioned it since (happened in December 2010). After that some smart people looked at the Norwegian article, then at the Icelandic article, and decided that wikipedia was a good enough source.

Iceland vs Turkey Statistics edit

Guys, as of this moment, it says Iceland played 8 games with Turkey, won 5, lost 2 and draw 2. So there is a mismatch in numbers. I don't know if they played 8 or 9 games so anyone having better statistics, can you please update one of the rows to match the total. Cap of Eiður Guðjohnsen? edit

In section Players it lists 87, while in section Captains it lists 90?--fireattack (talk) 05:05, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

That section should be deleted for now. It's incomplete and unsourced. I know a few books that can provide an accurate list, but I don't have them close by. After this comment I will delete the section. 89.160.155.212 (talk) 01:18, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oh yes, by the way, 87 is correct, the captains section was just wrong. 89.160.155.212 (talk) 01:23, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Icelandic naming customs edit

Should those not be followed here? It seems out of place to read "Bjarnason" for example in this article, when that form of address is completely foreign to Iceland. 89.160.155.212 (talk) 01:22, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Goal Difference in European Championship Table edit

Shall we insert a new column in European Championship Records stating the goal differences? Yunyiyang (talk) 14:06, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Iceland x Indonesia XI edit

I'm not sure but I think the last Indonesia x Iceland (11/01/2018) game was not a full international. They are going to play 14/01 and the first game was again a indonesian league XI. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wertherhunt (talkcontribs) 16:50, 11 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
