Section headings

@LucasKatherine: Just a note that on Wikipedia the standard way of writing section headings is in sentence case. That is, the first word is capitalized and subsequent words are not capitalized unless they include a proper noun. Peer-Edit for Behavioral Ecology Class

I made a few edits on the section headings and subheadings in order to better align their format with that of the "Consolidated Butterfly outline." Namely, these were on the "Life Cycle," "Protective coloration and behavior," "Genetics of color patterns," "Mating," and "Physiology" sections. I also recommend that the "Food resources" section specifies which diets are preferred by caterpillars as well as which are preferred by adults because the distinction is a little unclear. There are also several facts that were brought up in the "Overview" section that are not referenced to the appropriate sources. Finally, it might be worthwhile to expand this article by adding sections on the "Description" of the butterfly as well as "Social behaviors" because its wing-clicking behavior indicates that individuals of the species do engage in communication with one another.

I actually think that this article might be more organized if it doesn't follow the outline, because I think the subheadings make it visually confusing. This is especially apparent in the Mating section, where Mate Choice appears to be the same level as its sub headings. I've combined some sections to lessen the number of headers. I think that the addition of the life cycle is helpful, so I unbolded some words there to make it less confusing. I made the wing-clicking behavior into its own section because it seems to be behavioral information than physiological, and I called it Social Behavior because it's for communication purposes. Lastly, I agree that the food resources section is confusing. One source isn't opening (even though it opened yesterday) and the other doesn't specify anything about food, so I changed it to host plant. Ericapryu (talk) 02:54, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Ongoing section regarding edits to this page. Just combined three sections as they were each very short. Also, given that this butterfly does not migrate, it made sense to lump this fact with geographic range. I also renamed it to be broader and therefore more appropriate for all information in the section. Ericapryu (talk) 22:37, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Update comment! Just saw the page before your contributions, and I commend your efforts to expand this page! I echo the above user in that I wonder if the social behavior section could be expanded, for if wing-clicking communication was studied, maybe other communicative behaviors were researched too. I also wonder if you could have contributed some taxonomic information, maybe talking about how this species differs from related ones. You touch upon this in the food section, but I think it's worth having its own section. Lastly, the information in the multiple matings sections is not cited. Thanks for your contributions! I think that the previously made edits really helped to improve this article. I agree that the separation of the life cycle sections made this article more visually pleasing and easier to follow. I think the separating the Physiology section and the Social behavior section was an important edit as well, and helps the article flow better. I do agree that the Social behavior section should be expanded if possible as well as the multiple mating section. I was wondering if there was any more information on how the females choose mates, or if/how their multiple mating affects parental care? I made several edits throughout the article to fix any grammatical errors or sentence structure errors I noticed, and I added hyperlinks to less commonly known words. Thanks! Solid article. I also added a few hyperlinks for the more scientific terms (recessive, polyandry, locus, mimicry, melanism). I think the section on hybridization is a bit drawn out. It has a lot of weight in the article, so to justify that there should be a more significant, concrete conclusion. This is in regard to specifically the first paragraph discussing pheromones. I also explained what Mullerian mimicry is. You could go more into detail if you want. Lastly, you could add more about polyandry. I added a bit just to extend it, but you could probably find more specific info on the specific benefits H. cydno gets from mating multiply. Ecampell22 (talk) 03:50, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Questions following copy edits

• There's more information about the distribution of the subspecies at the Savela reference. If that is not added, maybe the list should be further down in the article.
• Where it said "a C-18 carbon skeleton", I changed it to "a C-18 skeleton", but I don't really understand and could be wrong.
