Revising the article edit

With editing, this article's stub class could be eliminated, and the topic’s relevance could be expanded so it will be deemed to be of greater importance.
The current article contains a statement on the life expectancy of Georgians in 2005 and another on the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs. The page also contains a link to “phage therapy,” which is an experimental treatment that has not yet been approved for use in countries other than Georgia. Phage therapy may be an interesting and experimental discovery that Georgia can claim as its own, but it is not particularly relevant to Georgia’s healthcare system – its effectiveness, financing, accessibility, regulation, structure, and reforms – or to the health status of the people of the Republic of Georgia. There is also an external link to the World Health Organization’s web page for Georgia, but this is the extent of the existing article.
This page has the potential to provide a wealth of information on Georgia’s developing health care system, but it lacks the quantity and quality of information to qualify as an encyclopedia entry.
For a class project, I will be revising the article to cover the following (This is a tentative outline.):
I. Introduction
II. Statistical Overview of Health Status
a. Life Expectancy
b. Birth and Mortality Rates
c. Leading Causes of Death
III. Organization
a. Historical Background
b. Regulation
c. Financing
IV. Criticisms
a. Accessibility
b. Quality
c. Efficiency
V. Principal Healthcare Reforms

Changing article name edit

I am considering changing the title of the article from "Healthcare in Georgia" to "Healthcare in the Republic of Georgia" so that its topic is more clear. Any objections?

Healthcare in the Republic of GeorgiaHealthcare in Georgia (country)

  • Standard Georgia (country) disambiguation, as "Republic of Georgia" has no status. CMD (talk) 09:16, 17 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Indeed in line with other articles related to Georgia. --BDD (talk) 20:16, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. There is no "Republic of Georgia" (except maybe this one in North America). —  AjaxSmack  01:04, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

References edit

I added names to the references so that they could be reused in different parts of the article. Still trying to figure out some of the references that are in foreign language. WP:HOS -- Talk to G Moore 01:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hospitals edit

There was nothing anywhere about Georgian hospitals, so I started a list here. Trying to complete the Lists of hospitals in Europe article. Georgia (country) and Abkhazia are some of the last to be completed. WP:HOS -- Talk to G Moore 01:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
