Hello, I was wondering if a link to HEE would be any use. This site features many Halo 2 glitches and easter eggs. Someone at the bottom asked if a glitches section should be added, if that has not happened why not a link to a site with a listing of them?

Spoiler tags aren't necessary. People should be able to tell that when they read a piece of text that says "Story" or "Synopsis" that it contains....well, the story or a synopsis. Another thing, Lord Hood said Commander Keyes, not Captian. Several times throughout the first few levels (Chapters) it is said she is Commander Miranda Keyes.

It is "Ark", no questions about it. It's been mentioned in Frankie's updates on bungie.net. Additionally, the only time Miranda Keyes has ever been referred to as a "Captain" (by anyone besides some tool on the Interwebs) is in a TV Guide interview with the actress who performed the character's voice in Halo 2. She was mistaken, by the way. The character is Commander Miranda Keyes. She is not a Lieutenant Commander, or a Captain, or an Ensign, or a Lieutenant, J.G. She is a Commander. Competition

I'm surprised that no mention has been made of the competitive side of Halo 2, especially given its exposure on the USA Network. MLG runs the tournaments and Amped eSports provides online coverage, similar to ESPN. I think it would be a good idea to add http://www.halowiki.net to the external sites list. It's an extremely active Halo 2 multiplayer wiki with almost 7k articles.

Actually it is the second highest praised game on Xbox [1]. But as Pep said any criticism is contained in the "Reception" section and it is balanced to maintain a neutral point of view, and since there is far more praise than there is criticism that is how it should be maintained. To actually clarify, there was a criticism section, but as per other articles it was merged into reception. This is, one of the MOST criticized games on Xbox, particularly BECAUSE it has the largest following. Just like Bungie doesn't consider public opinion, editors and admins for Wiki fail to consider public opinion, which for a large minority, hammers the game in forums and registered websites. To leave this out, Wikipedia is, truly, not accurately depicting this game. Jeers to Wikipedia.

It is also one of most-praised, and shown by the reviews cited. Therefore, any discussion of the game's reception should reflect that balance. If you disagree with the weight given, please find sufficient credible, reliable sources to back your position. Additionally, I want to point something out: the majority of the complaints I've seen are by Halo:CE fans who are complaining about elements that are not perfectly in line with what was in Halo:CE. The majority of these complaints are on blogs and forum posts, and are thus unreliable sources. Major, reliable criticial sources have done little to criticize the game, as they have to report in a relatively unbiased format based on the game's own merits, not whether it adheres perfectly to some ideal developed by its predecessor. Celebrity Halo 2 Pre-Release Party

Celebrities, industry executives, and press all attended Xbox’s exclusive Halo 2 E3 2004 preview event on Saturday, May 8, 2004, in Beverly Hills, California. Some copy-editing needs to be done.

• including Easter eggs, capital in the middle of a sentence
• are located in hard-to-reach or concealed places , concealed areas
• sentence above drags on a bit.
• In Halo 2, however, Xbox players, what?
• Unlike the original Halo, which featured both health and shields, the HUD in this game removed the health bar. However the player still has a shield which absorbs a finite amount of punishment. When the shield is depleted, the player is vulnerable; however if not exposed to fire the shield regenerates over a period of time, Read it and you will see it needs to be reworded.
• Some weapons can be used at the same time, remove this. Just say a new feature that allows players to dual wield
• When playing in this mode the player must complete ,remove 'in'
• Areas of the maps that players would normally never visit are nevertheless fully built, uhhh?
• Many levels of the Campaign are set in huge, intricate maps, what types of maps, ice, mountain, forest landscapes?

I did ask for help from WP:H, but perhaps they're all out for the holidays... :) Anyway, I've done copyediting, specifically the parts you said above, though I haven't gone through the reception part yet. Also, uses a service such as GameSpy, remove 'such as' and put 'called' , actually, gamespy is not the only type of service, just one of the more notable ones, so that edit stands. I also found some duplicate info and moved and merged, and I believe I've gotten rid of ALL the double spaces and one-sentence paragraphs. Happy holidays! One problem I have with the article

A lot of the sourcing seems to come directly from Bungie (and I don't mean the plot, which I think it very well-referenced). Does anyone else think more info should come from major gaming (or perhaps mainstream media) publications, especially considering the vast, vast amount of sources available in relation to the game, and the fact that your IGNs, GameSpots, etc. comment every time anything related to Halo happens. -- Kicking222 23:03, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Certainly a valid question. One thing I have noticed, however, is that because 'GameSpots, etc. comment every time anything related to Halo happens', a lot of what they say happens not to be true. No, there doesn't. Maybe it being mentioned in how some data wasn't included in the game, such as the E3 campaign level and a new flood race called Juggernaut, but not a section about it.

Bungie's own comments on the game

A recent issue of Edge included an extensive feature on Bungie, which has now been republished on the Edge website. It's very interesting, particularly for the development staff's own comments on the disappointments of Halo 2:

"The trick is to avoid designing or writing by committee. You have to take what’s best from the input you’re getting and not have it turn into that too many cooks situation."

"That’s sort of what happened with Halo 2," agrees Greisemer. "Toward the end we were working on balancing the weapons and everybody was very vocal about a ton of things and I think eventually we just sort of polished away some of those hard edges."

Backwash removed from matchmaking

Team SWAT

Adding References to the Article

Apparently, the addition of any more references is not possible at this moment, at least not for me. This has been so for quite a few weeks now. Exactly how can I get a new reference added to the article?

I ask this because a reference I had added several months ago was removed, apparently by someone who felt it was redundant. It was a link to the Bungie.net forums where Jeremiah (a.k.a., "Ninja on Fire"), the guy who is in charge of Halo 2's matchmaking, said that the use of superbounces in matchmaking is cheating. I also added a reference that linked to another B.net post where Tom "Achronos" Gioconda, another Bungie employee, similarly stated that the use of button combos (e.g. "BXR") is cheating as well. The link to Achronos' post is still in the references list, but the reference still says "Superbounces". Since Achronos never specifically mentioned superbounces, I think the link to Jeremiah's post should be added back to the references list, as it is IMO not redundant. The description of the reference should be modified to include "Button Combos" with "Superbouncing" to better clarify things. Here is the link in question: [2]

Release date?

The article has the release date listed as April 24, but the article it references lists the release date as 2007/2008. I've seen other sites that list it as TBA 2007 or June 1. Where's this April 24 date coming from? And since the sources are so varied, is it even worth putting a definitive release date on the article?

Where's your reasoning behind that? Plenty of games have a glitches section, and I think if there are glitches/easter eggs they should be listed in their own section as well. Alan Fishers 18:06, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Because so far, he has one glitch, which itself is his own observation, or original research, as I assume any others added would be. Also, the important problems are referenced in the Additional Content section, about what was and was not covered by patches. Also, I cannot find a Featured video game Article that have a Glitches section. We need to keep it at a Featured Article level of quality, which means not having a Glitches section with, so far, one unsourced glitch. -- Viewdrix 20:41, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

have you ever thought that maybe they added that as a gameplay issue i.e. making the game more manageable. i know it sounds petit but 6 extra shots can make a difference, and bungie might of knowingly implemented that for gameplay reasons. Wikipedia is not a game guide. Glitches sections in any gaming article are not supposed to exist no matter how many sourced glitches exist. The same deal goes for cheats and trivia. WP:CVG/GL#Scope_of_information 60.241.169.85 07:32, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
