This looks like a copy and paste from the website. I'm not versed in editing articles, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't qualify as encyclopedic. Warrickball 13:16, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree. It would be a shame if this article were deleted, but if this page is used for advertising purposes then it might be. Please improve it someone!!
I agree likewise. Though I didn't create the article I will try to improve it. I already did some major editing because it truly sounded like an advertisement and Goodenough is a historical place let aside its prestigious cachet (its patron is the Queen!) --Joelleabirached (talk) 23:08, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Pronunciation edit
Someone should add the pronunciation, because people might think it's pronounced 'Good Enough College'. And that's a pretty stupid name for a college. Siúnrá (talk) 17:42, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what your point is. As the article explains it is called Goodenough College after a Mr Goodenough. It's pronounced, as far as I know (and this includes quite a few conversations with college staff) as you would expect. It's difficult to see what a pronunication guide would add, then, as it is already obvious. This just leaves us with your PoV on the "stupid name", which is just your PoV and probably does not need addressing in the article. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 23:08, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you for clearing this up. I think the pronunciation is far from being obvious, given the myriad possibilities to pronounce 'e' and '-ough', as well as variations on prosody. I still think it's a stupid name, because academic institutions must always encourage greatness. This is worse than the name of Universidad de Moron, which also appeared on FAILBlog, mais je divauge. - I cannot agree that it is a stupid name. Fortunately neither of our opinions matter to the article. As for the pronunciation, I cannot see any problem at all. - Even though it's apparently obvious how to pronounce this word, could you humor me and tell me how? Is the 'e' silent or pronounced? Is 'ough' like 'aw', 'ow', 'ooh', 'uff' or 'ock'? - Good Enough. As if it is "good enough". Isn't this a bit of a case of Occam's Razor or whatever - go for the most obvious one? It looks like the English words "Good" and "Enough" and, stap me vitals, it IS like those two English words. It seems to me a lot, like a LOT, less obvious to start looking for it to be pronounced God-en-hew or Good-eeenawfffff or even Goniff. If it was called JamRolyPoly College I'd advance the same argument - it's more likely to be pronounced Jam Roly Poly College than Jammer Olipoli Collage or Jah! Marolyp Olicollege. You know, we manage OK with the nearby Bloomsbury and Great Ormond Street Hospital without falling into the terrible trap of thinking they're maybe pronounced Blow Oms Beery or Greater Mondstreet. In summary, I do feel that a mountain is being made out of a molehill here, and I'm sorry that I'm not going to have time to participate in this debate much more. If you can get a pronunciation file for it - and, to recap, that's "Goodenough" like "Good Enough" then great, please do so, I am sure it will enhance the encyclopaedia. - Seriously. It's not at all obvious. After noticing the college on a map, I came here to find out how to pronounce it. Is it a big deal that some non-English speakers need a little help? "I know how to pronounce it, so surely everyone else should guess" is not a great piece of encyclopaedic input.
