Hi Mdaniels5757. Thank you for the review.
- The "he was considered" section is cited in the first line of the section "Wario". I've been told before that, per MOS:CITELEAD, I should not use citations in the lead for things that are cited in the body.
- I've changed ALT1 to use your wording and struck ALT1A
- There is no CC0 option in Flickr, only PD-mark. PD-mark is an indication that the Flickr user believes that the file is in the public domain. There is a clear consensus that when the creator of a work releases it under PD-mark on Flickr, it is equivalent to PD-author, though the exact wording for the new template is being worked on still.
The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 23:28, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@The Squirrel Conspiracy: Hi. I don't think that the "he was considered [the best]" bit needs to be cited there, but it should say who considered him the best. There actually is a CC0 option on Flickr: "Public Domain Dedication (CC0)". I didn't realize that PDM proposal moved to a Commons RfC already, I ought to respond. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it'd be prudent to try to get an explicit release under a real legal instrument. Cheers, --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 00:18, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Mdaniels5757: I've added "According to the Panda Global Rankings and to writers covering competitive Smash", though I think that's unnecessary.
If you have OTRS access, there's a ticket in the file description that shows you that the author's intent is clear. I take a dim view towards going back to the rightsholder over and over again, well past the point where there is any actual ambiguity of intent, in order to satisfy Wikipedia or Commons' insatiable bureaucracy. If you choose not to approve the photo I'll be disappointed, but I'm not going to bother the donor again. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 04:20, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I do have OTRS access, and read the ticket. Getting a CC0 release isn't required, but would have been nice. It's good as-is tho. Main hook is   approved and preferred, ALT1 is also   approved. --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:05, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

GlutonnyGlutonny (gamer) – It's hard to imagine that this isn't a common misspelling. As such I'd imagine there are a lot of WP:SURPRISE instances when someone searches for the sin and happens upon... some pro gamer. Unlike the typical uses of WP:SMALLDETAILS, we aren't talking about a proper name here, but a basic word. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:33, 6 October 2020 (UTC) Relisting. OhKayeSierra (talk) 17:11, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • "Glutonny" doesn't show up in the Gluttony article and we don't usually disambiguate because of misspelling. Although a Google search for Glutonny does say "Showing results for "Gluttony" when you click on "Search instead for Glutonny" you only appear to get this topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:12, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The hatnote at Gluttony could have been clearer and I have boldly changed that into a {{for2}}, but there's nothing else to see here. It isn't anything to do with WP:SMALLDETAILS, it is down to what is the WP:TOPIC for the headword "Glutonny"? In the absence of Glutonny (disambiguation) etc, we don't add a disambiguating phrase just so readers can find the wrong article quicker. For if not, you're implicitly requesting that Glutonny beomes a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT as {{R from misspelling}} to Gluttony? That is the implication. Otherwise this is just not the way we disambiguate things... 84.236.27.182 (talk) 21:57, 6 October 2020 (UTC) WP:SOCKSTRIKE. -- Tavix (talk) 00:56, 12 October 2020 (UTC) Reply

note that this new IP account is from the first edits an experienced user. Can we ask what previous/main account is? In ictu oculi (talk) 14:46, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support This is a minor spelling difference that is defiantly not WP:OBVIOUS and should be stated to provide clarity to the title. blindlynx (talk) 09:25, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. As the lone topic called "glutonny", I think the hatnote is good enough. I fail to see any WP:SURPRISE here, since this article is not highly viewed. Nohomersryan (talk) 15:49, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support the primary topic for glutonny in books is the mispelling of glutony (suggest anyone saying otherwise test this), extremely common misspelling, and the gamer himself may not have realised his name was mispelled. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:44, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, this appears to be the primary topic of this spelling from a cursory search. The hatnote takes care of the misspelling and should alleviate any confusion that may arise. -- Tavix (talk) 00:58, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, assume someone who types this is looking for this, not something they didn't type. Also this looks like it would be pronounced differently. Gluton redirects to Gluten, with no hatnote; other misspellings such as Gluttany don't exist. Peter James (talk) 14:56, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per WP:SMALLDETAILS, I think a hatnote is enough.--Ortizesp (talk) 18:20, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Misspellings should not generally be considered primary topic over a genuine use for that misspelling. —Xezbeth (talk) 08:30, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. "Gluttony" and "Glutonny" are spelled differently. The hatnote is sufficient to differentiate between the two. JIP | Talk 20:28, 16 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. This has two misplaced letters compared to gluttony; it should be considered a distinct topic. Hatnotes should be sufficient. kennethaw88talk 03:36, 17 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Hat notes exist for a reason. -- Calidum 01:15, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've been unsure about reviewing this because I don't follow esports, but it's been waiting for a review for too long, so let's do it.--AlexandraIDV 09:20, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Infobox/lead

  • Glutonny's age does not appear to be backed up by a source - either add a source or remove it
  • I don't know what the best way of handling this would be, but it was not obvious to me that "professional" would be linking to Super Smash Bros. in esports until I hovered over it.
  • "Super Smash Bros" is a short enough title that I wouldn't consider it worth it to shorten it to the less formal "Smash Bros." / "Smash for Wii U" / "Ultimate". This applies across the article.
  • the best Wario is gaming jargon and not appropriate here since we write for general audiences - would suggest changing all instance of calling him a Wario to "Wario player"
  • Using "title" to mean "game" is probably not the best here, since it can be misread as being about the "best [SSB] player in Europe" type of titles

Brawl

  • Italicize game titles.
  • Is his brother notable? If so, mention his name; if not, it's fine as it is
  • Give some context for SKATAR, I can't tell how major of an event it is

Wii U

  • What is Panda Global?

Ultimate

Wario

  • he was considered the best Wario player in Europe in Super Smash Bros. Brawl,[35] the best Wario in the world in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U,[54] and is a contender for the best Wario in the world in Ultimate. Grammar issue here - you can either format this as "he was considered X and Y, and is a contender" or "he was considered X, Y, and a contender", but not "he was considered X, Y, and is a contender". Basically, the final item in the list of the things he's considered needs an "and".
  • Glutonny's gaming handle was inspired his use of Wario as well as by the character Gluttony from Fullmetal Alchemist. "inspired by". Also, italicize Fullmetal Alchemist.
  • he can get anywhere on the map that he needs to be. is not literally true - rephrase

References

  • Smashboards seems to be a message board, unclear how this is a usable source.
  • Dexerto and EventHubs are listed as unreliable sources on WP:VG/RS

Images

  • Main infobox image is good
  • It would be nice to be able to illustrate the second half of the article since there's a lot of text. Are there any freely usable images of the events or of any of the more prominently mentioned players that we can use? If not, that's fine.

Notes/recommendations not part of GA criteria

  • I highly recommend adding brief alt text to the image, to aid readers with impaired vision

Aside from these points, it looks all right - main issue might be the sources. I will put this review on hold for seven days - ping me when you have addressed the issues or if you have any questions, and I'll respond asap. Thank you~!--AlexandraIDV 10:02, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

As the nominator has not responded after a week, even after I left a reminder on their user page, and has not otherwise been active on Wikipedia since October 22, and the above issues still remain unresolved, I will unfortunately have to fail this. Feel free to re-nominate it if you have more time to work on the article later.--AlexandraIDV 15:54, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
