Ansatsuken edit

  • Gen's official fighting style is referred to as "Ansatsuken", which is actually a generic term that describes any martial art used for killing. This is part of the reason why I nominated Goutetsu-ryū Ansatsuken for AfD. Danny Lilithborne 19:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

his art is kung fu not the anasatsuken martial art. which mostly based on death touches of fingers and fists usuall also can be said he use fatal nerve attacks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.65.151.176 (talk) 08:19, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

akuma edit

in the story section of the page it is written that ryu killed akuma witch is not right at all its just wrong. akuma is still alive.

Gen's Death, Akuma Rivalry edit

A few weeks ago I wrote up the story section to say that Gen allowed Akuma to survive their fight so that they may have a proper rematch later. That later match ended with Akuma granting the now-weakened Gen an honourable death. This is drawn from the Udon comic series, which is considered to be canon.

That replaced the idea that Gen actively tracked Akuma down, and that Gen's whereabouts are currently unknown. Someone has since restored that version. I don't want to change it back if this version is more correct, so is it? I'm not familiar with it; where does it come from? Dunjohn (talk) 20:39, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Um, the Udon comic is not considered to be canon (Shadow, anyone?) JuJube (talk) 01:08, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

      • Hmmm indeed. If the Udon comic is taken as canon it would require the retcon of quite a number of things that happened in the games. Handing the SF license over to Capcom of USA was a decidedly bad idea in that respect. JuJube (talk) 01:45, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
        • So which version should go up? Like I said on the article's History screen I don't play as Gen so I've never seen his ending. Udon's telling has the company's backing, so should that be what Wikipedia shows? We could include a subsection detailing the "alternate" scenario, whichever one that turns out to be. Little fun with his name edit

Since Gen is Chinese, so why is he called Gen in first place? I should just note that the kanji of his name (元) is "yuan" in Chinese pinyin. Sincerely --Gleb95 (talk) 14:55, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
