Talk:Ganapathi Sachchidananda/Archive 1

Definitely a VALID Article

Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji has not only millions of followers world-wide, He has released hundreds of songs (large selection of albums available on iTunes). He has played at the most popular concert halls around the world including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Hall and The Lincoln Center in New York. He has toured the world over 100 times and is known by and revered by people of all religions. He is absolutely amazing at what He does. This page should never be removed as He has reached so many more people than you can imagine.

Sri Swamiji is not only known for all of the above. He has written and composed thousands of bhajans, whether they are in the tune of a folk song or an Indian Classical song. He has initiated several successful humanitarian projects such as Amma Vodi (helping destitute women), building hospitals, especially for the under-priveleged. He has shown millions what the meaning of compassion is and has changed the lives of many. Books and books have been written about Him.

The above text is only a small excerpt of what He has given us all. Removing this article would be the single biggest mistake Wikipedia has ever made, especially based on the fact that He has accomplished so much more than what is written above. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinnybad (talkcontribs) 05:32, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cleaned up article

I cleaned this up based on the recommendations below and added the Controversy section along with citations for balance. I also changed the wording for NPOV re: supernatural claims. It's better but could still use more facts and citations to get up to standards.

This article is now ridiculous. 'He is a living god'? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yacobman2000 (talkcontribs) 20:10, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rewritten

This is a previously deleted article for copyvio. I have rewritten it and provided references. He is a very prominent person. Please guide me if I need to prove more for the article to exist. Iamthere 01:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think one of the most important things here is to ensure an NPOV-wording. I realize that 'Swamiji' is a title of affection and respect, but I find it unencyclopedic. Please use a more distanced tone, and refer to him as 'Swami Ganapathi', 'Swami Sachchidananda', 'Swami Ganapathi Sachchidananda' or some combination thereof. Swamiji is acceptable as encyclopedic. It is used in newspapers, police reports, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.127.49 (talk) 01:16, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Nada Venu.jpeg

Image:Nada Venu.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
