"Frederick Douglass Jr.", not "Frederick Douglass, Jr" edit

@Jeremy Butler: As per Wikipedia guidelines, WP:JR/SR: "North American English: Sr. or Jr. written after the name, without a comma, and with a period." & MOS:JRSR: "Omission of the comma before Jr. or Sr. (or variations such as Jnr) is preferred." The guideline is thus to omit the comma when Jr. is used. Peaceray (talk) 14:21, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. I did not know that. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 15:51, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Do we really need the last section edit

do we need the last section. It seems an extensive quotation with little justification. On the other hand this is a spare biography that does not make it clear what Douglass actually did the last decade of his life.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:32, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK. Last 7 years. We know he was a clerk working with his father until about 1885. We do not have any indication what he did from 1885-1892.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:34, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Too much unneeded stuff edit

I just noticed that he was born in 1842. The article mentions where his parents stayed in 1839-1838 as if it has any bearing in his life. It does not. Whatever an abolitionist from New Bedford was, I do not think the infant Frederick Douglass, Jr. was one.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:37, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
