Proposed merge with Cunning folk
Both of these articles appear to cover the same ground: Cunning folk covers traditions of western Europe, Folk healer repeats some of that in less detail and also covers the "Granny Women" of the United States. McGeddon (talk) 13:34, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose for the time being - and recommend long discussion. I think that you've made a fair first synopsis of the two, but I don't believe the subjects entirely intersect. The question is more how to further delineate and separate the two subjects so as to reduce overlap and expand them in two directions, i.e. traditional versus modern + recent historical. The folk Healer article would appear also to have significant lack of expansion and so few references as to introduce POV issues. - Oppose, folk healer is a broader category and includes non-European traditions. Cunning folk seems more specific to Western Europe. Also, the merge with white witch has created a bit of a mess here. How did Glinda from the Wizard of Oz become a folk healer? ABF99 (talk) 03:41, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Section Rewording
I reworded the section "unorthodox cancer healing" to "alleged cancer healing". The source does not seem to support the fact cancer is really cured in those cases, rather is focuses on "better understanding of the health care alternatives available and the health seeking behavior of individuals who use them.". I don't think it is a good idea to imply that cancer can be treated with alternative medecine if we do not have extremely precise and strong sources to back this up.
