I plan to expand the sections that are already there, as well as add new sections with related information. One idea I had was to discuss the gender differences between "folk healers" with traditional practitioners. Specifically related to Appalachia, I think it might be interesting to incorporate some information about the Foxfire series, a series of book written by early Appalachians that would have included recipes for medicines and medicinal treatments. Overall, I think this article would greatly benefit just from expansion, as it is a very interesting topic and there's a plethora of information out there that relates to it! I plan to perform substantive editing on the article Folk Healer. Information on the page lacks length and could use far more information on folk healing and fact-checking. The article could use some work on the headings as there are only two (at the time of looking) and a definition. Much like the user above I noticed the same things! Working with what they have given as well I plan to add more! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alicynbcraig (talkcontribs) 22:15, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

^^ edit

I also added the section "a gendered profession" because I think that is crucial in one's overall understanding of how folk healing came to be associated with the negative stigma that surrounds it. Ithub11 (talk) 15:10, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

This was a good addition, I think! I think that's really important to note when it comes to significance. Rhizomesandranch (talk) 15:12, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
