citation needed

edit

I've added a source at the end of the first paragraph and deleted the citation needed tag. Hope it's ok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Floydrosebridge (talkcontribs) 17:24, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

It still needs better references. Beagel (talk) 19:00, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

how can I add better references? the ones I've added are the ones where I've found the text

Please see WP:RS to learn what kind of references are needed. How to create and format references, you need to use the reference template (Template:Cite web) between <ref> and </ref> signs. Beagel (talk) 12:17, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm about to make some changes on this page, I'll add some paragraphs, and of course all the references,I hope it'll be all right! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Floydrosebridge (talkcontribs) 14:58, 16 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I saw that my changes to this page have been cancelled. Some information that are now on this page are old, uncorrect and misleading(for example Edison is no longer part of Montedison, and the "operation" section is not updated) I've replaced this information with new datas, adding all the references not only from edison's site (that, by the way, is the most reliable source for some information that cannot be found on other sites) but also from third party sites. I don't know what to do, I've tried to follow wiki's rules but my text has been cancelled anyway, can someone please support me step by step so that I can edit the text in the right way? It is important to provide information about the company that are right and up to date. Thanks(talk —Preceding undated comment added 09:41, 19 March 2012 (UTC).Reply

The "Equity" data in the infobox is not supported by any source, I've deleted it.

First of all, Wikipedia is not a tool to promote the company; that mean it should NOT to included the promotional tone. Please avoid wordiness and repetitions as it seen as a company promotion. Second, not every bit of information about the company is notable. If no third party reliable sources find that bit of information notable to publish, it is probably not notable and does not belong here. Third, if you have any connection to the company (and based on your edits you have), you should discuss all your edits at the talk page before making changes. Fourth, one or two-sentence paragraphs about operations by country is discouraged. It may be useful if there is more information but this is not a case right now. Hi everyone, I work for Edison and I would like to make some changes to this page, because some information are not up to date, for example, our president has changed and also our shareholders. I'll add all the sources I can find, I only have one question: is it possible to use articles in italian as a source? I will wait for an answer and then start with the corrections. Thank you 151.22.38.81 (talk) 13:15, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Davide151.22.38.81 (talk) 13:15, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, please do add or fix any mistakes. I would read our policy page on conflict of interest first. Sources in Italian are not ideal but acceptable. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Cheers, --Patrick (talk) 13:22, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, I don't think there will be any conflict of interest, I'm just changing basic informations, I won't try to promote the company in any way :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.22.38.81 (talk) 13:27, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for disclosing that you work for the company. More importantly, thank you for making wikipedia better. --Patrick (talk) 13:37, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
