Presidential election results

edit

The Presidential election results for the Delmarva as a whole are skewed Democratic by including all of New Castle County. Is there a way of calculating the results south of the C&D Canal? We do not know if any precincts cross the canal without seeing the voting-district maps of Cecil and New Castle Counties. Heff01 (talk) 01:22, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Heff01, you are absolutely correct that including all of highly populated New Castle County, when only a small portion of it lies within the Delmarva Peninsula, skews the presidential election results. The issue was discussed at length here: User_talk:Kingofthedead#Delmarva_Peninsula. I'm pinging @Kingofthedead: and @Superman7515:, who participated in the discussion. It would be difficult to compile presidential election information for the Delmarva portion of Cecil County and New Castle County since 1960, particularly since precinct boundaries change after every decennial Census. Since relatively few votes are cast in the Delmarva portions of those two counties, I think that the only two options that would not be overly onerous would be (i) exclude election date from Cecil County and New Castle County completely or (ii) eliminate the presidential-elections data altogether. I would prefer the former, since I think that election results are relevant information for the section that discusses the (unlikely) possibility of Delmarva becoming its own state. We must help, as our own homes are melting. What could be the cause? 2601:201:8701:F60:18E0:5967:7283:33BE (talk) 06:32, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
