Assessment comment edit

This comment was originally placed at Talk:Deez Nuts/Comments, but stayed there when the page was moved. Then, when /Comments were abolished, it was incorrectly moved to Talk:Deez Nuts instead of here. I've moved the comment back over for clarity. Mcguy15 (talk, contribs) 21:28, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Start class:
  •  Y A reasonably complete infobox
  •  N A lead section giving an overview of the artist/band
    - Current Lead barely introduces artist/band, the single sentence is difficult to read. A brief summary of the artist's career is needed here. Also decide whether this is an article about JJ Peters (should get his full name for first appearance e.g. Joseph "JJ" Peters or similar) or his solo project or the band Deez Nuts. Infobox gives band members - therefore it is not a solo project/pseudonym for JJ Peters. However, almost all of the article treats Deez Nuts as the same as JJ Peters (alone) by referring to "he"; which means it is a solo project. Last sentence seems to imply the article is about a band called Deez Nuts containing JJ (should use Peters when referring to the individual after first time) and his friends.
  •  Y Reference to artist's primary bands/associated acts
  •  N Categorisation at least by main genre and origin
    - missing origin, e.g. People from Victoria (Australia) or similar. Other possible CATs are: Living people, Australian drummers, Year of birth missing (living people)

C-class:

  •  N All the start class criteria
  •  N A reasonably complete infobox, including record labels and years active
-I Killed The Prom Queen in Associated acts?
  •  N At least one section of prose (in addition to the lead section)
    - considering the Lead is a single sentence, it doesn't really qualify as a section
  •  N A discography of studio albums and singles
    - Something wrong with the headings here: needs a break inserted. Does he/the band have any singles?
  •  N Reliable independent in-line references supporting claims
    – only two independent references, many claims are unsupported
  •  Y A casual reader should learn something about the artist/band

B-class:

  •  N All the C-class criteria
  •  N A completed infobox, including photo (were available) and most technical details
  •  N A full list of band membership, including instrumentation and time span with each band/solo period(s)
  •  N A full discography including charting history (or a link to such an article)
  •  N No obvious issues with sourcing, including the use of blatantly improper sources
    – all sections need additional in-line references, all sources used need to be reliable
  •  N No significant issues exist to hamper readability, although it may not rigorously follow WP:MOS
    – article appears to be largely the artist's history for 2007–2008 with little else. Some sections of the article read like a blog/MySpace/advert
  •  N No obvious omissions, but also no obvious extraneous information – such as "trivia"
    – Lead section needs considerable beefing up. No information on background of artist/band prior to professional career, little detail of associated act(s) other than membership.
Evaluation based on WikiProject Biography Assessment Quality scale. Please update this list when the article meets any of the above criteria, changing the article's class assessment as appropriate. Last reviewed by – Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 10:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Deez NutsDeez Nuts (band) – This band is not unambiguously the primary topic of "Deez Nuts". In addition to the original Dr. Dre track and the general usage of this phrase for pranks, there is now a joke US presidential candidate who has managed to get national press and (for the moment) a Wikipedia article. The current page title ought to be a disambiguation page. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 20:24, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Support this location should be a disambiguation page -- 67.70.32.190 (talk) 04:41, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support move out and create dab. In ictu oculi (talk) 06:26, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support and dab ONR (talk) 06:28, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Neutral but I went ahead and created Deez Nuts (disambiguation) anyways. The political candidate should be left out of the equation for at least a few weeks to see if his "notability" is a flash in the pan or not. It would be a waste if he was the reason this is not the primary topic today but when he is no longer in the press this band again becomes the primary topic and we have to have this discussion all over again. Disregard previous comments if the consensus is that this band is not the primary topic even in the absence of the presidential "candidate". davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:27, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
    • Comment I agree with this, for now the new dab page is enough, let's wait and see if the presidential candidate stays; if not, there are no other articles named Deez Nuts, and IMO no need for the move.--MASHAUNIX 22:17, 24 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment does not the 'dab' created by davidwr, solve this problem? Endorse his other arguments. Pincrete (talk) 11:04, 23 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Deez Nuts (disambiguation) solves part of the problem. The remaining issue is what page, if any, "deserves" to be at Deez Nuts by virtue of being a stable WP:Primary topic. Right now, Deez Nuts (candidate)'s notability is not stable, so it would be premature to do any page-moves that depend on the relative notability of that person vs. this band. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 00:02, 25 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
