Bert de Jong - August 13

edit

My wiki-gut tells me there are two Dutch Bert de Jongs (Google has more than that). Although it is entirely possible for someone to go from an Olympic speed skating career to a rally driver in six years, I think this is a case of mistaken identity. My Dutch is nil, but the birth provinces and the years alive (56:58) don't match up. — Wyliepedia 16:55, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

"My wiki-gut" - so that's what it is. I have always thought mine came from drinking too much real ale. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 17:39, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Lee Thompson Young

edit

on his page the first paragraph clearly lists The Famous Jett Jackson, Friday Night Lights, and Rizzoli & Isles as his most known acting roles but User:Rusted AutoParts insists on putting Smallville even though he only did 3 episodes. (he wasn't part of the main cast). now I know that on these pages you guys don't normally put gust starring roles as notable acting credits. Rusted AutoParts says its because he played a "very recognizable character" and continues to edit war anyway. the character wans't that important to the show otherwise they would of had him in more episodes. we already have 2 television credits listed we should also have one of the films hes done on it as well. I also waned to make note that Lee Thompson Young did 8 episodes of FlashForward and 5 episodes of The Guardian why not put that instead? or maybe put The Hills Have Eyes 2 that's a film everyone would know. In my opinion, only award-winning roles should be listed (Academy Award, Emmy Award etc). Then there would be no disputes over listing. Why must we list films and TV series that most people have not heard of? WWGB (talk) 09:10, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I usually add recognizable work, but agree with WWGB. FNL and Rizzoli were/are fairly popular here in the States, but would most likely have a shelf-life, so the award ones are more "encyclopedic" to list in blurbs like this. I've learned to leave entries such as these alone, as in other countries' actors. Someone in England could be in a vastly popular venue there, and other countries never even know about it, until they die. — Wyliepedia 07:05, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
