How come it doesn't say anything about his tricks in this article? I think it should anyone else think so?. It should say that.(Triva) Hes know for doing numerous tricks during matches especially step overs --McNoddy 16:21, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Come on...

Ok, the entire World Cup incident part of his part is a blatant attack on Cristiano. It's nothing but pissed off Englishmen just trying to stick any negative in there about him. The incident is all in their heads in the first place, it does not require a huge section with all that information in it. It's ridiculous, and needs to be shortened. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eagle10 (talkcontribs).

Please do not generalise. Also, we must assume that people do not know anything about the World Cup (or even football) when writing an article hence more details are always useful. I am happy with the section - but feel free to edit it. x42bn6 Talk 20:45, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I think the world cup incident section is too excessive. I think the incident could be summed up in a paragraph —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.17.182.75 (talkcontribs).
I actually think it is fine - the length of the section for Manchester is almost the same length and the section is well-referenced. x42bn6 Talk 21:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, not trying to generalize, but the entire section isn't really informing people. It's just bashing Ronaldo...anyone who didn't know him can see that by reading it. It wasn't an incident. The English chose to make it an incident. Rooney was sent off because of his own undoing, not because Ronaldo pleaded for the card. The English just wanted a scapegoat for the loss, and so they blew the entire thing up, completely out of proportion. It just goes on to further shove into the face of the reader the diving issue, which can be said, but in a sentence or two, not an entire paragraph or more.Eagle10
If a shortening is out of the question, at clean up is a must. It just seems like a random mess which has been created by about 10 individuals, each contributing a couple of sentences. Also, the line 'At the end of the match, he broke down in tears for his loss, like he had done on many other occasions', I think that is blatant bashing. Finally, the last line about BBC having recently mentioned Ronaldo is happy to stay. Well that is no longer recent, it was months ago. Of course, i'd happily do it myself, but I know it would just be reverted back within hours. --Killyourtv 16:01, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
I'll try and cleanup this part later. Good edits do not get reverted. No matter what, the issue was a large one and not because of the media. I removed the crying part, though. x42bn6 Talk 14:30, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

9 paragraphs on the incident is a bit long. Marco Materazzi only has a couple of paragraphs mentioning the far more publicized incident with Zidane. - Deathrocker 12:23, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Childhood team WRONG?

Unfortunately I've heard the contrary of what the article states on the matter of Cristiano's favorite soccer team as a child. It has been said that he joined Sporting because it was the only team he wished to play for, being that it was his favorite. Teams such as Boavista and Oporto did look at him but he unanimously decided to join Sporting. Being that Sporting and Benfica are rivaling teams, I really think more research should be done to guarentee that the right information is up there. Even little facts like that can make a huge impact and difference. (this information is both stated in the reference to his childhood and in the trivia section). 128.180.199.10 06:14, 22 January 2007 (UTC)V.M.

Umph, I couldn't find anything. He joined the team he did (fact) but the reasons could do with a reference, yes. x42bn6 Talk 20:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Arels Patushi was one of Cristiano Ronaldo's good friend's. Ronaldo taught him a lot of tricks. Because they both went to the summer camp.Ñ

Ronaldo Disambiguation

All,

You'll notice that a search on 'Ronaldo' in Wikipedia takes you straight to the page of the Brazilian Milan player (admitedly more famous worlwide). However I would argue that regardles of who is best know, both these players are famous in their own right. Therefore a search on 'Ronaldo' should take you straight to the disambiguation page so that you can then choose which of the Ronaldos you want to read about.

I've made a comment on the 'other' Ronaldo talk page about this so I'd appreciate if any of you could also visit the talk page so that we can reach a consensus on this. Cheers, (Dinosv 12:44, 29 March 2007 (UTC))

That's great, but cars and houses are trivial, and the "personal life" section is basically a trivia section by another name. I don't have a problem with deleting the "personal life" section altogether. Objections? Ytny (talk) 20:29, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Career stats table

The table that someone keeps reverting to is too big. I put the current one in because it actually fits on the screen. Kingjeff 16:37, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

World cup incident

Both "incidents" (nistelroy and rooney) are pointless media speculations, in both cases no one truly "involved" confirmed any kind of "incident"

The "world cup incident" section seems to be way taking up way more space than it should. More importantly, it mentions that there was speculation that Ronaldo affected the sending-off, while there is no description of the event itself, Rooney's stamping and pushing of Ronaldo (was that Ronaldo's fault really?) It just focuses on how the English media used him a scapegoat without taking an objective view of the event itself. The section seems pretty biased and way too big. Xioyux 02:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

That section is a disgrace. The man is somehow responsible for Wayne Rooney being a loose cannon? Look at this article in other languages and you will find little if any mention of this "incident". Only the most bitter England fans in denial and muck-raking journalists would come to this absurd conclusion. This section doesn't even describe the event - it simply suggests Christiano was at fault. Look at the YouTube video one more time and I defy you to put the blame on anyone other than Rooney. Ronaldo isn't even within 12 feet of Rooney when the offense is committed. Please grow up folks. - Plasticbadge 23:59, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Definitely. This is Rooney's incident not Ronaldo's. Deman7001 02:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
This section should be no longer than a couple of sentences. This incident is now long forgoten and as mentioned above had nothing to do with Ronaldo, although the press backlash afterwards might be worth mentioning if only to point out that Ronaldo was made a scapegoat for Rooney's sending off. If I don't hear any objections about this over the next few days I'll shorten the section myself. (Dinosv 13:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC))

Height

He's 1,85m tall. it's relativelly unimportant how it converts into imperial measures, as the empire is long gone —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.205.84.210 (talk) 16:49, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not 100% on this one but I believe he is 6'2" and not 6'0" like stated on his page here. I've heard many football analysts refer to him as being a "big" guy at 6 feet 2 inches. It is also evident when you look at photos of him. On the field, he appears to be taller than most of the players. The terminator1000 00:19, 14 April 2007 (UTC)the_terminator1000

There is a template that is used here that calculates from metres to feet and inches. If you can find an article or profile that states your claim then you can use it to redo the height. Kingjeff 00:54, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

I change the height to 184cm based on the profile on this page premierleague.com profile. I remove the reference from Official Manchester United website since it doesn't list his height there. Martin tamb 09:23, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Too much emphasis on 06/07 season.

I think there's too much emphasis on this current season. He has been at Manchester United for over four years and yet under "Manchester United" over half of the content describes his form this season. It's not even the end of the season yet and it's already cluttered. In a few years time this article will be a novel. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.0.226.75 (talk) 02:13, 17 April 2007 (UTC).

Just something

It's quite clear that Ronaldo is one of the, uglyest people on earth if not the outright best, player in the world. There's no doubt at all. So why is this not at all mentioned? I know it's minor but he's certainly deserving of it...

If you have a citation that states that, in can be added, else it's POV. Darkson - BANG! 23:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Several players (Gerrard, Joe Cole, Terry, Rooney), and Ferguson and Queiroz have hailed him as the best in the world. If he/she cares enough, the citations are certainly there. Kronix1986 04:28, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
