Similarity to copyrighted material edit

I have permission to use this copyright, but I will alter the text from the original text so that there are no copying issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Newman3535 (talkcontribs) 12:46, 18 September 2010

Looking through the article I see that it has been largely reorganized and additional material has been added, but many of the sentences from the source are still present in the current article, only slightly modified. They should either be rewritten further to avoid violating copyright or you can follow the steps at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials so that we can verify the permission to use the text. That's true. I have been working on wringing out the similarities and making it copy-free, and I will continue to do so. This might be easier than getting my contact at the CCC to put the Creative Commons licensing on his site, because then he has to go get their webmaster to put it in, and that sort of thing just takes time. I am going to keep working with the text. If I can get it right, then we don't need to go through the Creative Commons process, but if everybody thinks we still need formal permission, I'll go get my contact to go through the necessary steps. If it's rewritten sufficiently then formal permission won't be required. Updating the website wouldn't be required by the way if we do need permission, just an email (with all the info asked for in my previous link) sent from a cornellcatholic.org address with permission from the copyright holder would be acceptable. "Homilies" citation edit

The article reads:

The end of Vatican II began a period of intense discord and fragmentation. Many chaplains came and went over the course of a short period of time, reflecting and exacerbating the social difficulties of the time.

The citation is to a page of recorded homilies. I assume the intention is to cite a portion of one of Father Smith's homilies, but the amount of material on that page is large enough that no casual user would be able to hunt down the original specific excerpt from one specific homily. Does anyone (e.g., MilkyWay12345 (talk · contribs)) know which specific homily is the relevant one so that the citation can be made more specific? —Bill Price (nyb) 17:12, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

In general, when an organization is just a chapter of a national group (e.g., Mortar Board) it is not considered notable. However, if you can find secondary coverage from independent reliable sources of Daniel Berrigan's activities at Cornell or some other reason to make Cornell unique from all of the other Newman Clubs, please add it. I have added a section on Daniel Berrigan. MilkyWay12345 (talk) 08:58, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
