Amy, Rory and River

edit

How come we're removing these cast members when their inclusion in the episode is backed up by the cast list in the given reference from the Radio Times? ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 13:33, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Because we don't know they are in for certain, and as per wikipedia policy, if you can be as awkward as possible and you haven't had 47 independant unbiased accounts (from doctors, scientists, the media, the queen etc) saying that it is accurate, then you must remove the information.--2.26.87.153 (talk) 15:00, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
No. This is ridiculous. Since when is Radio Times not a good source? If it says they're in the episode, then they're in the episode until it's broadcast without them. Especially in River's case we have absolutely no reason to doubt the source. As for companion status, the default status for them in this series has to be to give them it but if the episode's events warrant then post-broadcast it may be appropriate to move these three to others and/or call Craig a companion. But we will have to wait and see for that. U-Mos (talk) 19:09, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
We should go by the reliable sources we have. Just because they weren't in the trailer doesn't mean they won't be in the episode. It takes place on Earth, and for all we know, Amy and Rory live down the street from where the action takes place. It's not like there haven't been fake-outs before. When the episode airs, Amy and Rory's presence (or lack thereof) will be known definitively. Or we can turn this back into a redirect, protect it, and restore the article after the episode airs. --Ebyabe (talk) 19:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I agree, we have two sources that currently say River, Amy and Rory are in this episode. If we doubt them then this article needs to be a redirect as there is little enough to say. Edgepedia (talk) 20:45, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Why is River down as the companion? The Radio Times link just places her in the cast. 86.162.212.202 (talk) 13:31, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
The RT only lists the cast and doesn't specifiy the specific roles (main character, protagonist, companion, etc.). Amy and Rory were listed as companions too, but there's a discussion about that at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who#The God Complex. DonQuixote (talk)
To address River directily, the dicussion at (I believe) Talk:Companion (Doctor Who) has agreed that by default she is a companion in this series at least. If the episode warrants it, she can be moved to "others" after broadcast. U-Mos (talk) 09:07, 23 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Updating Plot

edit

I removed the 'hook' header, and am updating the Plot Summary. Gk007 (talk) 20:05, 24 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Another editor disagree with my "verbose" changes to the plot summary and reverted them. However, I had also corrected grammatical and factual errors. If someone disagrees with any of my plot changes, please change them directly rather than reverting. --DavidK93 (talk) 03:34, 25 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Plot summaries need to be short and terse. There are details you added that are unnecessary to the larger plot (and even my version could use trimming). We don't need to be scene for scene accurate in the summary. --MASEM (t) 03:37, 25 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Doctor of Archaeology

edit

Are you sure she is Doctor of Archaeology, because in The Time of Angels, it seems she isn't yet and this is after this event, since she is already serving time at Stormcage. Hektor (talk) 12:55, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

In Time of Angels she isn't a professor. DonQuixote (talk) 13:07, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Brig'

edit

Is this the ep in which we learn that Lethbridge-Stewart died "a few months ago"? (Nicholas Courtney died shortly before the beginning of series 6.) I reckon that's worth mentioning under Continuity. —Tamfang (talk) 07:55, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, that is in The Wedding of River Song. --MASEM (t) 12:52, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
...and it is mentioned there. Thanks. —Tamfang (talk) 21:55, 16 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Plot: "He stops by Craig ("The Lodger"), finding he is living with his girlfriend Sophie, has moved into a new home, and is now raising their baby, Alfie." -> "He stops by Craig ("The Lodger"), who is living with his girlfriend Sophie, and finds that he has moved into a new home and is now raising a baby, Alfie."
  • Plot: "As the Doctor leaves, he notices…" Is the 'he' the Doctor, or Craig? Just wanted to check..
  • Plot: "Craig, while at a new department store with Alfie, discovers the Doctor working in the toy department." 'Department' is used twice in a sentence, maybe change the second one to "section"
  • Plot: "but the Doctor manages to reverse the teleporter and disables it." -> "but the Doctor manages to reverse the teleporter and disable it." or "but the Doctor manages to reverse the teleporter and he disables it."
  • Filming: "the couple who owned the house allowed it so it would be an experience for their two young boys." -> "the couple who owned the house allowed filming to take place in order for it to be an experience for their two young boys."
  • Critical Reception: Maybe its a personal choice, but I like to have refs at the end of every direct quote, but it is up to you.
  • Critical Reception: "Smith and Cordon’'s Laurel and Hardy double act" There's a double ' in here
  • Reception: Change B+ to "B+"
  • References: Ref 7 should use an endash, not an emdash

That's really all I can find. Good work; on hold.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 16:12, 13 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I believe everything is fixed! Thanks for the review. Now, to tackle that finale...so much continuity... Glimmer721 talk 01:43, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Everything looks good, I will pass this. Good luck with the finale! I finally got the third series, and it has "Blink" commentary track, so I will try to work on that in the next few days.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 03:06, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
