Is the vacuum necessary? edit
The design section states "A centrifugal evaporator comprises a vacuum pump connected to a centrifuge chamber in which the samples are placed." However not all centrifugal evaporators have vacuums, in fact the centrifuge is simply used to keep the samples in the vials.
