Fair use rationale for Image:Birdsoftokyo ep.jpg

edit

Image:Birdsoftokyo ep.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Intro/Lead

edit

Okay, so recently I've been working on cleaning this page up some, and making it flow a little better. (I know its far from perfect, but I do think it's better, and I did what I could with minimal background info on the band.) Anyways, I know the lead/intro that was there before wasn't nearly good enough, but I'm not so sure I like how it is now either. Does every other sentence need to be about an award they've won? I know it's all notable and important, but it's starting to sound like a promo piece again... Sergecross73 msg me 12:58, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I've been looking into it, trying to add bits of info thats been missing. But i agree about the intro part. There should be less about awards and more about, the band itself. Thomas-gough (talk) 03:28, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Good work on the article, can I suggest that someone create a table for the Awards and nominations section. That is how the section should look like and it makes it look more tidier. The table on the Flo Rida article is a great example. ozurbanmusic (talk) 04:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

That is very nice, i shall have a play and see what i come up with... Thomas-gough (talk) 05:01, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hows that??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomas-gough (talkcontribs) 05:33, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

It looks great now! All it needs now is reliable sources. ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:46, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Does anybody understand the copyright stuff that wikipedia does? I've looked at it and i cant make any sense of it. This Page will never be complete if it doesn't have a image or photo of the band...Thomas-gough (talk) 06:33, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

You can't use non-free or in other words copyrighted images. They have to be images taken by you. Don't worry a lot of articles dont' have images. ozurbanmusic (talk) 06:40, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough I'm Going to see them at Big Day Out on the Gold Coast, so if nothing else comes up before then, I'll get some good shots of the band, and upload them. Thomas-gough (talk) 07:29, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thats good then, I might fix the Discography section and make tables for it as there should be. The Jessica Mauboy discography is a good example of this. ozurbanmusic (talk) 07:54, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Discography

edit

Do the Singles need to be put into tables? Thomas-gough (talk) 11:38, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes. ozurbanmusic (talk) 22:13, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm Pretty sure that their first 3 singles came off the album Day One, ill change it now Thomas-gough (talk) 00:43, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not the first 3, the first one was off the EP i think then the others where off Day One Thomas-gough (talk) 00:44, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
So the first one was off the EP and the next three were off Day One. Done. ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:48, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

So, the "Early Years" section says they released 2 EPs, while the Discography at the bottom only lists one. I don't know much about the early years, so I don't know which one is true, but it seems like one needs to be changed and/or needs some additional explanation. Sergecross73 msg me 12:33, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes i see what you mean, i might ask some of my facebook friends that are fans from the beginning. Or even the band itself they sometimes write back if it is a good causeThomas-gough (talk) 13:13, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Single Plans went Platinum according to their myspace site, http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=11243313&blogId=540035356, but i do not know the formating to fill that box and the new single is wild at heart if you read that also Thomas-gough (talk) 06:47, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ian Kenny's own article

edit

For those who are interested, I'm starting up discussion here as to whether or not Ian Kenny should have its own article. Thanks, CR4ZE (talk) 11:25, 10 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

This page contains references to a band member "Miki Cee" There is no reference on any documentation related to album releases from the band that this person was ever a member.

The edit was made by IP 86.2.234.7 at 19:40 on 12 June 2019, and this change was the only edit that user made.

Liner notes from the albums Day One (2007) and Universes (2008) make no mention of this supposed member. The only references online are from other wikis that have scraped data from wikipedia, no verifiable primary source (newspapers, blog posts, social media) verify this person's identity or status as a member of this band. Can any evidence be provided that this person was a member of Birds of Tokyo? Te1ecaster (talk) 16:27, 4 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am removing this information as it is likely vandalism. The same user who made this edit also vandalised a festival lineup article by replacing a real performer's name with "Miki Mash". --superioridad (discusión) 14:41, 6 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
