Contradiction with Jervis Bay Territory article edit

This article is wrong. The area of the Jervis Bay Territory was set by the Jervis Bay Territory Acceptance Act, 1915, http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/ActCompilation1.nsf/framelodgmentattachments/BAF795AC95816EDBCA256F71004C5B25 the area on the Beecroft Peninsula was set by the Seat of Government Acceptance Act, 1922 http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/sogaa1922265/s3.html (which includes the Jervis Bay Territory area). The Beecroft Peninsula area has NEVER been part of the Jervis Bay Territory. The Beecroft Peninsula area is Commonwealth territory, and would appear to be part of the ACT, but it is not part of NSW. Confusion between Commonwealth Territory and Commonwealth Land edit
In the Seat of Government Surrender Act 1909 (NSW) [1] NSW surrendered approximately 900 square miles of land (around the site for Canberra) and granted approximately 6 square miles of land (around Jervis Bay) to the Commonwealth. In the Seat of Government Surrender Act 1915 (NSW)[2] NSW surrendered approximately 26 square miles of land on the southern side of Jervis Bay to the Commonwealth. The land on the Beecroft Peninsula is owned by the Commonwealth but is in NSW. It's exactly the same arrangement as any other Commonwealth owned land as is the case at Sydney or Melbourne airports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adavidson99 (talk • contribs) 22:33, 3 March 2015 (UTC) I agree, it appears to be confusion between Commonwealth Land and Commonwealth Territory. The Beecroft peninsular was subject to the 1909 act that created commonwealth land on the peninsular. The 1915 act created the JBT on the southern side of the bay. Edit to Territorial Status edit
I have edited to article to add a section about this status. I think it is pretty clear that Adavidson99 & CamV8 are right about the area being Commonwealth-owned land in NSW. I have put in a few references to back that up but have also included a couple of references to show that confusion about the status of the southern coast of the peninsular extends to some fairly reputable sources. In the process, I have removed the ACT/JBT map image which is no longer relevant. I've left the 'disputed-section' tag in place for now in case someone wants to tell me I'm wrong.TheSciolist (talk) 00:48, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Unincorporated Federal Land edit
As explained here, there does indeed seem to be a parcel of land on the southern end of the Beecroft Peninsula that is neither part of New South Wales, Jervis Bay, or the Australian Capital Territory. The source mentions that legal experts consulted concluded that it is instead "unincorporated federal land." The author does address the distinction between "surrendered" and "granted", noting that "The JBTA of 1915 has NSW surrendering the southern part of JBT, but is silent on the topic of the Beecroft Peninsula."
